Adventuresome RCMP 12-chapter serial

James Bannon is 'Royal', an RCMP Mountie who must stop a group of delinquent punks from knocking off as many people as they can before they go after some long lost buried treasure. Virginia Belmont is the romantic interest. The Republic serial 'Canadian Mounties vs. The Atomic Invaders' (1953) lifted much of what is presented here.

Not up to Republic serials normal standards

There is plenty of action in this serial; but not enough to bring Jim Bannon up to hero standards. (He was much better in the Red Ryder series). This may be another case of a leading man being cast because of his resemblance to ace stuntman, Tom Steele. Stuntwork throughout the 12 chapters is very good with Steele working effectively with Dale Van Sickle and Ken Terrell. Production value is also somewhat lower than average. For the serial enthusiast, however, it is worth viewing.

Opening crawl: Faith - A symbol of good will in a troubled and suspicious world. The International border-line between Canada and the United States territory of Alaska. A border only guarded by trust, yet never crossed in a war-like spirit by either of these great and friendly nations. Criminals who would betray this trust are hunted down. The American law enforcing agencies join with the Canadian Royal Northwest Mounted Police to insure that both nations will continue to enjoy peace.
