Kimono My Whorehouse

The trials and tribulations of a prostitute in post-war Tokyo.

To be honest, I didn't make it all the way through this one, but no-one else has bothered to review it so I felt I ought to leave something. While making my way through the films of Kaneto Shindo, I've started to encounter some that just aren't speaking to me anything like his two great sixties masterworks Onibaba and Kuroneko. It's well-acted and otherwise put together but the story just isn't compelling enough for me to connect to it. I'm sure there are many others who would like it a lot more though.
