Lead actor Günther Lüders who plays also starred in the 1956-movie Das Sonntagskind (1956), which is also an adaptation of the play "Wibbel the tailor". There he was playing Mattes, the apprentice.
The girls in the sewing room are singing the folk song "Lieschen war das schönste Mädchen" (Lieschen was the most beautiful girl). It was written around 1860 but the scene is set in 1805.
