Two-fisted Stranger

The Durango Kid takes over as a hard-riding, quickshooting sheriff to save an unsuspecting town from a group of murderous swindlers, and has a battle on his hands all the way. Smiley, as his comical deputy, waddles along for the laughs.

However, Steve doesn't last long in the job and is fired for incompetence. But he realizes Brady is pulling off a swindle. Having found the proper soil, Brady has salted it with cheap diamonds, gotten Smiley to accidently find them, and is now taking money from eager investors and planning to flee with it.

Most Durango Kid films have an entertaining value, no matter how average or not, and this one's no different with the Durango kid taking on some swindlers. The action keeps things interesting, and the best bit is a lady going gaga over Smiley as she thinks he has struck it rich. Has he found romance?!
