Good Second Feature

Florence Rice is in Paris with her father, Stanley Andrews, and his business associate, Victor Jory. She doesn't know their business is spying. Andrews is caught stealing defense plans, while Jory. Goes undetected. Andrews is sentenced to Devil's Island. On the way, he makes friends with fellow convict Norman Foster. Andrews is confident that Jory will rescue him, and it comes to pass; Jory shows up as a guard, and the three of them head off to the jungle, while Miss Rice waits for them in nearby Venezuela.

It's pretty much oppression and straight adventure in the Hollywood jungle sets, with some good performances. Foster, as he so often was, is competent without much presence, which is why he was working at Columbia, while Jory always seems to be playing a smaller role than he should. With Arthur Aylesworth and Noble Johnson.
