FBI: Most Wanted

I finally gave up on this show, after probably persevering for too long.

While it's not a bad police drama, the constant turnover of the main characters made it very disjointed. The back stories for them were pointless, as nobody stayed and characters often disappeared with no explanation. Whatever happened to all of Jess LaCroix's (Julian McMahon) in laws?

I gave the new supervisor, Dylan McDermott, a go. But when one of his early 'unsubs' turned out to be a woman with multiple personalities, I drew the line. The writers were really scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas. Like there are not enough regular, garden variety psycho killers that they can call on.

Pity. The show had potential. But the revolving door and an outrageous story line was too much.

When this series began with Julian McMahon as lead it was incredible. Then he left the show and Dylan McDermitt took over. Completely different styles. Dylan's character "Remy" plays an arrogant, rude, hot-headed, over actor who thinks hes all that. He helps himself to other people's food, people he doesn't even know, without asking. What's that all about. Julian's character was quiet, smooth, and empathetic and truly sincere. Dylan's character is completely opposite and frankly, annoying to watch. He is anything but empathetic. Problem with this is I can't decide whether it's incredibly poor acting on Dylan's part or the writers want him to act this way. Either way I'm not sure how much longer I can watch this series unless Dylan leaves the show. All other characters, although they change often for some reason are OK. Dylan character is just too much everything.

If you like Dick Wolf shows, this one is good. The best part of the show is the acting chops of Terry O'Quinn and Julian McMahon, and their complicated relationship. Supporting cast is quite good. It works for me .

Addendum 5/24/24 l must say that the replacement of Julian McMahon with Dylan McDermott has been rough. Remy, Dylan's character is just not a likable guy. He appears angry and unapproachable with his staff. Dylan is a good actor but I just don't like his character. I still enjoy the show but McDermott needs to vanish.

Dylan McDermit is a great actor, but I still see him as being the bad guy after his role in Law and Order Organized Crime. He just doesn't fit the part. It's to soon. They need to re-think their decsion on their leading actor. I miss Julian McMahon/Jess LaCroix. The way he left the show was unexpected to say the least. Killing Jess off was just not the way to go. I will continue to watch FBI Most Wanted as it is well written and I absolutely love it! Though I will always be saddened at Julian McMahons descion to leave. Jess LaCroix, his immediate family and girlfriend were the heart of the show. FBI Most Wanted will never be the same without them.

I mostly liked this show from the beginning, then they started losing actors, which was a bummer, but I still liked it until the new agent in season 3 came... she is horrible! She is always sulking! She looks pissed all the time. She acts like she owns the place and knows all! There is no chemistry or camaraderie with her and anyone else. PLEASE bring in someone with a little charm and personality!
