Ad Vitam Aeternam

This is a hauntingly beautiful tale about a young orphan girl named Anouk who befriends Death. Though she's just a small, innocent child-unaware of the full dangers of the world-it feels as if she's been quietly waiting for the Reaper's arrival for some time.

Her unexpected joy upon meeting Death-an unusual reaction for most of us in such a moment-is heartwarming and oddly soothing. Her excitement while helping the Reaper find a new scythe adds a touch of gentle humor.

The animation is well-crafted and tells Anouk's story in a deeply emotional and touching way. While the ending was fairly predictable, it still felt satisfying-I wasn't disappointed at all.

Its special beauty is touching and admirable crafted. In a cemetery, the meeting between a little girl and Death. An accident about the scythe. And her solution. Her last question. And a long, splendid story of friendship. Poetic, amusing, impecable done. Short, just a delight.
