Granted there was a bit borrowed from Carlin, which I shouldn't even say cause literally who cares and what is he supposed to not talk about it merely because another comic mentioned it several decades ago? Regardless, and I can't say this vehemently enough - his stand up is utterly seamless and he does it all in a manner suited for practically any age, well I mean ok I did say practically. Simply put - its funny, very funny and I actually laughed several times so do yourself a favor and brighten your day
Watching Jim Gaffigan's newest special on Amazon is a treat. His material is consistently funny. Some jokes bust a gut, other jokes not bust gutting..... but every joke IS funny. It's interesting how his voice changes as well as his facial expressions to make his point. A very talented man. His horse jokes had me laughing out loud! Overall, great material, funny, and delivery timed perfectly.

This is the best Jim Gaffigan I remember seeing. I guess I remember liking him and enjoying it before but this was really fun from beginning to end. Now, this is a comic telling jokes and IMDB has gone back to requiring a lot of words. I don't want to give away his jokes. I don't even want to talk about the subjects of the jokes because that would sort of be a spoiler and won't make the jokes better. It's interesting that I could just rate this and give it a score but if I want to say anything, I have to come up with 600 characters of something to say. He does talk about horses and shirts. Actually he talks about horses sort of like the Moby Dick whale species chapters. Quite a bit. But he does apologize for that.

Gaffigan is one of the most reliably hilarious comedians out there. He has several specials out and this is as good as any of them.
He also works clean. It's nice to be able to show my kids a comedian without being worried about content.

Not much to say except Jim Gaffigan is as funny as he's ever been, with all new material. Constant laughs, laid back, great time.

This video appeared in my amazon prime list, and I am so glad that I watched it. All the jokes were unoffensive. The "horse" jokes were hilarious. His take on NY Marathon was amazing. I have rarely come across comedians who can make people laugh without indulging in crude language. I strongly recommend watching this for 1 hour of pure fun. You will be smiling all through the video. You can watch it with kids. Best wishes to Jim. Will watch all of his other videos, and await his next one. Thank you for making us laugh.

Normally this guy has me in stitches. I've been a fan for years. I saw him live a few years ago and he was amazing. But this one just feels lazy to me. Don't get me wrong, some of it is pretty good... but for every good moment there seems to be several moments of sub par (compared to his normal genius) filler. My buddy put it perfect - a lot of dad-joke quality material here.

I really enjoyed this show. He did several different voices, which was good. He went pretty fast from one joke to another, so it felt like he was really maintaining a pace. I like the faster pace of the jokes in this special.
Gaffigan really unleashed some interesting themes that he kept moving forward, like the appendix and the bear. The horse theme was funny. I enjoyed this special a lot.
One thing others mentioned is the laugh track that seems to be in all of his specials, and I blame cheap production values for that. I think that instead of putting microphones all over the theatre to get audience reaction, the whole show is taped in front of a live audience and then Gaffigan does the whole show in a studio where his voice is synced to the live video, and the audience laughter is added in. That is just cheap production by his producers. We have all seen live shows were they manage to get the comic's voice crisp and clear, and the live audience reactions are also clear. I cannot take points off from Gaffigan because of the bad production values.

I've been a long time fan. This guy is my go to comedian and his comedy is always clean and crisp. I've listened to his prior sets repeatedly, especially on long drives. But his set just seems less enjoyable. It's fine, it has its funny sections, but it just didn't have me in giggles constantly like his prior works had and still have. So yeah, check it out, but maybe after you're done with all of his prior work.

I see there are a few disatisfied fans with this show, people complaining about the audience not having real fun, fake laughter and so on. My question is Does that really matters if the audience had fun or not? It's just about if you had fun or not, the rest isn't important. I had a lot of fun watching Quality Time so I really can't complain. This was the third show that I watched from Jim Gaffigan. After Mr. Universe (2012) and Noble Ape (2018) I was expecting the same kind of humor and that's exactly what I got. Jim has an unique way to bring his jokes, talking to the audience with questions, making his silly voices, it's all very entertaining and funny. I'm a fan of Jim Gaffigan. He's the kind of comedian I wouldn't mind paying to see him perform. There are a lot of stand-up comedians nowadays and he stands out.

Jim is in Minneapolis in front of an audience and he's fat. His wife is the director. It's probably a year before COVID and it feels like another world right now. It's simple. It's his same old, same old. My favorite joke is land salmon. It's a great visual. I see a pink piece of salmon in the place of a pre-sunburnt shirtless Jim in dad-shorts. All in all, it's a fine meal although it's not spiciest. It's seared land salmon without the sauce.

I have trouble believing this was a live show with an audience. All I can sense is some guy sitting with a sound board turning a knob up and down. No crowd interaction. Maybe I'm wrong, but I found it unbearable.

This dude works clean and is legitimately laugh out loud funny for all ages. That is most impressive.
The canned laughter made this show unwatchable, it was all I could hear. Was the audience so unreceptive it needed a laugh track like a sitcom.
I gave this a full 5 minutes... untucked 3X shirts, fat jokes, and the audience is IMMEDIATELY laughing hysterically. Having attended and watched on television many comedians, this is IMMEDIATELY suspect. Even the best need to warm up a bit, but this fella has them in stitches right away, with bad material, and I don't believe it's real. Stopped and deleted. Smh

I love his comedy. Clean and funny.
This one though was unwatchable because of obviously engineered laughs. Just painful.
I wish Jim, his brain tumor surviving wife and 16 children well, but dude, you can kill without the awful laugh track.
Jim Gaffigan, Quality Time may be very funny and enjoyable.

Nothing much to say. As many other users pointed out, the laugh track is unbearable and very obvious. The guy says "hi" and you hear the same laughs we've been hearing since the 60s in every sitcom. Quite pathetic. His humor is not great. It could have been entertaining anyway and somewhat enjoyable, but the constant fake laughter makes it impossible to watch.
