I remember seeing the trailer for this film before it came out, and it's very striking. It seemed funny, but kind of scary, and that's indeed what this film is.
I think the casting for this is great, because a lot of guys in this world seem so friendly, but hide this darkness. Most abstain from the evil that runs through their minds, but a few give in.
The stark image mirroring reality is a hard thing to stomach, as you watch this movie, especially near the end, but director/writer Emerald Fennell is phenomenal, and shows us a character who chooses to divert the plans of rapists using herself as the bait.
Mulligan plays the character well, showing the unexpected emotions that pop up when she develops feelings for the Bo Burnham character. As the plot progresses, ups and downs and multiple events happen that make this a roller coaster, with a smirk of dark humor ingrained in the final product. It's a hard film to sit through, because we know who's lurking outside the theater, in the real world.
I recommend this for adults, who can take a little chocolate and whip cream on their poison. (Dark comedy and thriller fans.)

Wow - an acting masterclass from Carey Mulligan. And if this film can make one person think twice about taking advantage of someone who can't defend themself it has done it's job. But it's a lot more than a film that sends a powerful message. It is sinister entertainment at its best. Wonderful.
Cass plays the part of the drunken, incapacitated party girl very, she seems to have one mission, stopping men that would take advantage of the situation, however she has one singular mission, revenge.
This is a terrific story of revenge and consent. It's one of the best films I have seen for some time, no wonder it received to much praise, and so many nominations.
I wonder if they'd thought about making this a slasher movie at any point, vibes of Killing Eve and I spit on your grave, without the gore. Twist after twist, it will keep you on the edge of your seat.
This is one of those films that should be shown to teenagers, and young adults. It shows one thing, not all predators are alike, and they'll always have people who facilitate their behaviour. It also aims to show exactly what is meant by consent.
You'll reach a point in the movie where you'll think it's over, but it isn't, there's another huge twist coming your way, I didn't see it coming.
The one question this raises, is Cass a bad guy or not, it led to a really interesting conversation among my friends, all sorts of opinions.
Oscar nominated for her role, Carey Milligan is fantastic, I've seen her in some great parts, but this must rank as one of her best, her character's development, and sudden shifts in behaviour are extraordinary.
Bo Burnham is excellent in support, he is so good as Cass's distraction, the supporting cast are on point.
Great movie.
9/10.

The subject matter is still sadly something that still needs to be taken seriously in today's society. Needs to be shown especially to college & high school students. Carrie did such a great job, I've never seen her play anything similar to this.
I'm flabbergasted that I'm only discovering this movie 3 years after it came out. I love every single actress and actor in this movie, and I'm shocked it wasn't a book made into a movie, it was so good and full of character depth. The plot centred around revenge was a very appealing bonus. All that said, the movie had a lot to live up to and IT. DID. It blew me away, and I would watch it again immediately except it left me feeling both sick and empty inside because there is just so much truth to the society we live in. The plot twists were almost too easy to see.... why? Because.... men. I actually don't hate men, I don't want to. But here I am bawling about men anyway. Now to feel better, I'll need to watch an uplifting fictional movie with men as the heroes; shouldn't be hard to find. Also, the soundtrack was wonderful. Thank you for this masterpiece.

Lo sapevi?
- QuizThe very first scene writer Emerald Fennell thought of was a female character lying on a bed while someone takes her pants down, as she is drunkenly asking "What are you doing?", then asking the same question in a completely sober manner. She wrote the rest of the film based on this idea, and the full scene did end up in the finished film.
- BlooperCarey Mulligan has a noticeable and distinct mole on the left side of her face, next to her lips. Around the 1 hour 5 minute mark, when Mulligan's and Burnham's characters get back together in the coffee shop, it is apparent that the image is reversed, as the mole now appears on the right side of her face.
