The Counterfeit Kid

Creative movie that will make you laugh and also want to move to Wyoming for the scenery. The Counterfeit Kid has some very good actors who do a great job delivering a well written script. There is just the right balance of action and comic relief to keep you entertained as you follow the story of Jack aka Bloody Ben Harris. If you've been to Cody, WY or around the Big Horn Mountains, you'll recognize some of the places that were used in the film.

When watching this movie, keep in mind it was literally made with someone's personal budget. The end product is absolutely amazing considering the resources available. Quality soundtrack as well!

Hats off to Matthew Taggart for realizing his idea to make this film!

Come for the beautiful Wyoming vistas, stay for the hilarious script, fantastic actors, and outstanding direction. Chaco is a standout and Flatface is the best scene stealer. I enjoyed every second of it. Beyond the above, the original score takes the film to the next level. It felt familiar and comforting while being new and fresh and exciting at the same time. Being from Wyoming I appreciated this exhibiting our great state in all its glory rather than filming in other locations masquerading as Wyoming. More movies need to take advantage of what the Cowboy State has to offer. I can't wait to show the rest of my family this movie-bonus that it's family friendly!

Six hundred characters really? Well if that's the requirement here goes- I was so happy to finally see a movie that was filmed in beautiful Wyoming . What a wonderful script. Funny, clean and clever. The scenery was beyond gorgeous and I was happy to watch an hour and a half movie instead of the two to three hour so called Hollywood blockbusters of today. No CGI just natural beauty. I loved the casting and freshness of this movie. Bring your kids and grandkids. It is not a dead serious western but more of a love story with lots of humor. I hope to see many more films that leave me smiling when I leave the theater.

If you're on the fence about watching this film, just do it! Totally worth it. So many gems to look out for. First, the scenery in this movie is second to none. Sometimes I got caught up just looking at the breathtaking mountains, rivers and valleys and had to remind myself to focus on the story! The score was fabulous and could not have complimented the views any better. The plot and storyline were clever, suspenseful and hilarious. I also really enjoyed the well appointed special effects that made some of the scenes especially interesting. If you watch closely, you will find them. Watch it, you won't be sorry!

Great story with some pretty dang good actors. The cinematography was on point with some breathtaking shots of Wyoming, the music was simple, cute, and brought all the feels of a nostalgic western, and the story was engaging. While there were one or two spots where the audio didn't seem to match up, it didn't detract from the story. The main antagonist did so good, I wish there was a bigger back story on him.

Grab your family, even the little ones, grab your popcorn and favorite drinks, and sit down to enjoy this fun western that will have even little kids laughing out loud. My favorite character was Jerry, so funny and genuine.
