A shameless piece of propaganda for every true Russian to cherish and enjoy!

This "film" is the greatest recent example of public funds embezzlement in the name of Art. Having cost a fortune this piece of cinematography is only as good as a pearl clam without any pearl in it. Colourful and tongue-in-cheek from the outside, it is the austere and in-your-face piece of state propaganda. One can only sit and wonder wonder with sheer horror how far down the great Russian cinematography has gone from the times of "Cranes are Flying" and even the beloved "Adventures of Shurik". Is this the top costing piece of junk in the history of cinema? A resounding yes.

The film's director Tigran Keosayan is Simonyan's husband who hosts a satirical but staunchly pro-Putin show on Gazprom owned channel NTV. Both were sanctioned by the European Union in 2022 for their support of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and being a "central part of Russian government propaganda".
