A Ramy light episode as it concentrates on his mother's loneliness.

Maysa feels taken for granted and wants a bit of excitement. Even maybe a few likes in her Facebook posts.

With her husband not keen on her doing exercise classes. Maysa takes up being a Uber driver. Hoping she will meet new people.

Maysa thinks illicit romance might be in the air when she meets Jacques, a businessman who hates New York.

He loves speaking French with Maysa. This was certainly an episode with lots of subtitles.

Maysa connects with Farouk for a bit, until he returns to his favourite show.

A beautiful episode

Even if you don't watch the series, which you should, this episode could stand on its own. A perfect little short story that could be right out of Modern Love. Hiam Abbass is perfect. Her hope, her loneliness, her dejection, her beauty are all so quietly palpable. I love the simple honesty of this show and this episode was at the same time a very separate story but so perfectly woven into the experience of Ramy and his family. Sigh. I think I'm going to go watch it again. Please give us more short stories like these.

Although...

... just in case the end song was miscredited to Bruce Springsteen, who did cover it I believe, 'Jersey Girl' was written and in this case, performed by Tom Waits - I know I know but it's an important distinction and the captions said Springsteen... sooo yaaa
