I literally cannot handle not getting a season 3 after the season 2 finale. This is such a unique story and I love all the characters. Please don't let the story end here! Ava has gone through so much throughout the show and she has grown as a character as well. We see how much the characters love each and if it is a possibility for there to be resurgence of Mary then that is what I expect once we get season 3. This show is incredibly underrated and if I could fund season 3 myself I literally would so please watch it because there are so many ways this story could end. I found myself absolutely fawning over avatrice but also the way all the other characters supported them!
This show is Soooo good! Other than having lesbian nuns, warrior nun is such such a badass show like the cinematography, the scenarios, THE STUNTS! The emotions are beautifully executed, so sapphic, the whole plot is amazing and it keeps on building up form season 1 to 2! Alba Baptista character "Ava" is so well developed and her chemistry with Kristina Tonteri-Young "Beatrice" is absolutely perfect, I'm in love with them.
This is the type of show manga/anime - science fiction don't want to miss. I don't understand how Netflix doesn't promote it. It's incredible.

Warrior Nun: A secret order of nuns dedicated to combating demons, generally just the wraith type which possess people but occasionally more fearsome ones. Their leader is killed during an ambush and her internal halo is transplanted into a dead girl. Ava (Alba Baptista), reanimating her and bestowing superpowers on her. The Halo has been passed down for centuries and was meant for another nun who is now jealous. We get nuns armed with crossbows, swords, rifles. These are Ninja Nuns. There is a conniving Cardinal and a lot of Church intrigue. A scientist is also involved who has her own plans for Church relics made from Divinium (a bit like unobtainium). Ava runs away and teams up with a gang of young grifters. Great combat scenes, well imagined demons. The RCC Hierarchy don't come out of this smelling of roses so it may substantially differ from the comic book series it's based on. Good fantasy thriller. 8/10. Ten episodes, on Netflix.
I didn't even know that this series existed before stumbling upon it on Netflix one evening by browsing through the contents on Netflix. The synopsis for "Warrior Nun" sounded interesting, so I sat down to watch it.
And I ended up binge watching the series. Yeah, I must say that it caught on with me right away. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters portrayed in the series. And I must admit that I was surprised to find that they actually made a TV series of a comic book that I used to read back in my teens.
Well, the story told in "Warrior Nun" was definitely entertaining, because there were a good solid main storyline and the sub-plots that ran correspondingly with the main storyline were quite nice as well, and they were tied rather nicely in with one another. And "Warrior Nun" was definitely more than just a TV series focused on the main character Ava (played by Alba Baptista), because most characters in the movie definitely contributed something interesting and entertaining to the storylines.
But not only was the storyline good; the action in the episodes was just spectacular. I was really impressed with the action scenes and sequences throughout the episodes. That was definitely something that brought a great amount of enjoyment to watching the show for me.
Visually then "Warrior Nun" was just spectacular. The special effects and CGI in the episodes were rather good, and definitely added a very dynamic, if not realistic, layer to the show. And special effects definitely help to cement a series such as "Warrior Nun", to make it stand out from the countless other series readily available with a press of a button.
It should be said that the cast in the series was rather good, and they definitely had some interesting actresses and actors cast for the various roles throughout the show. Aside from the main actress Alba Baptista, "Warrior Nun" also boasts the likes of Kristina Tonteri-Young, Toya Turner, Thekla Reuten, Sylvia De Fanti and Joaquim de Almeida to mention but a few.
I was generally very impressed with season one and entertained by each episode. However, I must admit that the ending to the last episode was rather anti-climatic for me, and it just sort of felt like the air seeped out of the balloon at that time. But luckily there is a second season coming, so that is good news.
My rating of "Warrior Nun" is a sure seven out of ten stars. This series is well worth the time and effort.

The war between God and Evil is on. Ninja nuns with a divine power and a kickass attitude hold the line and maintain the balance against the power of darkness.
I am a huge fan of angel stories and all things related to biblical storylines so I was very surprised when I only recently learned of this series. After watching a few episodes I found it was slow to pick up the pace, but by episode 5 I was invested in the outcome and had become interested in the characters.
Well written and well thought out, definitely a great series and worth recommending after seeing the first season. Mixes fact and fantasy well with a blurred line between the two. A very pleasant surprise and I am looking forward to Season 2.
