I'm writing this not only because I enjoyed the show, but because the accusations of this show being propaganda is unfounded. The show examines 4-5 conflicts between the FBI and executive branch starting with Watergate. Speaking with numerous former agents as well as former White House employees the stories show both sides of these conflicts. The episode focus on the following: watergate, Iran-contra scandal, Chinagate/Whitewater"/Monica gate, and the rise of Comey during the Bush Adminstration up until the present day. Incredibly interesting and I recommend.

People giving this 1-3 stars calling it "propaganda" just want to bury their heads in the sand.
This show has interviews of real people involved in real scandals surrounding the presidency.
Also, how can you call it propoganda when Nixon, for example, was proven to be behind Watergate and the subsequent cover-up? The guy left office lmao. Get real people!

If you believe in democracy you need to see this. All the dots are connected between those political "leaders" who think themselves above the law and their lawless behavior. The role of pardons in their criminal enterprises is especially frightening. Must see for all. You won't be able to hang onto your alternate fact sets after seeing this.
I felt this was fairly well balanced and factual look at our current situation. Until the Trump election I was a life long Democrat. My first time voting for President was for Bill Clinton. Funny how time changes a person. I voted for Donald Trump not because I agreed with him but because he represented a drastic change from the staus quo in Washington. I felt America needed a wake up call. Well we got it, let's see how we learn from it.
I highly respect Jim Comey and this series illustrates a couple of key things Comey did that shows he is a man of character and exactly the guy you want running the FBI.
Only time will tell how the Muller investigation will pan out. Hopefully, we'll see a season two of this show.

I've seen several of Alex Gibney's documentaries so far and I find myself noticing the glaring, blatant, intelligence-insulting manipulations.
I was really enjoying this documentary (more than many of his others, which were lousy and incredibly one-sided and manipulative) until the final episode. I am a Democrat and I loathe Trump, so I have no bone to pick in terms of "owning the libs." But to claim that not a single FBI Agent was happy about Comey being fired is, on its face, implausible. No leader is 100% beloved. In fact, career agents are not particularly impressed with political appointments. Imagine being at a company for 30 years and suddenly your new CEO is plucked out of a totally different industry and put in charge. Sure, in many ways it's a figurehead position, but respect still has to be earned. I'd say Louis Freeh came the closest to having that respect the day he started, but only because he'd previously been an agent. And still, there were those who said, "Sure, but he quit after 6 years."
Comey may have been somewhat popular in his early days as director, especially in contrast to the dour Mueller, because he was more extroverted and friendly and seemed to have more of an open door policy. But he certainly carried a lot of baggage. He had a reputation in DC as kind of a holier-than-thou, self-aggrandizing, "I'm the only honest man in DC" persona. He may have tried to play the humble aw, shucks role, but the guy was full of himself. Everyone knew it.
Add to that his relentless PR campaign to make the FBI more open and transparent, complete with TV appearances, speeches, you name it, and suddenly the FBI was in the spotlight all the time, which made many agents uncomfortable and miss Mueller's discreet and quiet leadership style. But yeah Comey had some burning desire to blaze a new trail.
That Alex Gibney actually used an official FBI internal memo to "prove" that Comey was so beloved and going to be missed is utterly laughable. Like the FBI is really going to have an internal memo that said "Phew, glad to see the POS is getting the boot!"
How stupid and naive do you think the viewers are? Many agents resented Comey and were glad to see him go. I had to take off 2 stars just for that jaw-dropping segment. I'm still shaking my head.

Liberal propaganda. I do like politically historical shows that discuss major events in the past at the highest levels. This unfortunately falls short because it is a liberal propaganda piece. Many times they've use the word unbiased when it comes to the FBI. We now know that is totally untrue based on Comey who took it upon himself to intervene in a presidential election and undermined a sitting president. That is the worst of law-enforcement when they become a political arm just because they feel morally obligated in spite of existing laws and elections. This sounds more like Russia than the United States. You never want your police officers to become an arm of any politician. While some of the footage is good The message is awful. Note they left out Obama who had about 13 scandals during his presidency. It has potential, but crashed and burned.

Need I say more. Some is bent truth but trying to make liberals the ones NOT creating an idealust society, hiding truths from American citizens. We are a divided country and maybe will one day be a free country again but will more than likely be split into two Historty repeats, its the civil war all over again.
I reluctantly watched to see how the spin would be on our President. It delivered as expected especially Episode 4. Of course it ends before the Mueller Report was even presented to the House.
It's clearly an attempt to sway the 2020 vote. It paints Comey as a frickin Patriot for Gods sake. When everything is said & done, it will be interesting if they come back with an Episode 5 showing what the results will be with Fisa Abuse, Clinton Foundation, Seth Rich Murder, FBI Abuse, on & on.
The FBI has always been a criminal organization, once backing Republicans, and now backing Democrats. This series shows why the FBI should be abolished.
JFK's and LBJ's criminal acts in Vietnam are never mentioned. This video falsely attributes all crimes in Vietnam to the criminal Nixon. Both Democrats and Republicans are guilty, but this partisan hack job only presents Republican crimes.
Republicans committed lots of unConstitutional acts. Democrats committed lots of un Constitutional acts. Only Republican crimes are presented. This DNC approved series tries to distract from Democrat crimes by pointing out their fellow criminals at the RNC, as if accusing the guilty makes one innocent.
There is a lot of great video and audio of events starting with Watergate as well as extensive audio interviews.
Missing are the unConstitutional crimes of LBJ, FDR, Clinton, and other Democrat criminals.

This is definitely left wing propaganda. Totally done to put some idea in the American people's mind to try and say that Trump is lying about the witchhunt. The only thing I see here is that it is another way for the media to plant doubts in the people that don't already have their minds made up about Trump and the stupid Russia collusion issue. Wish I never would have watched this! I thought it would be fair and balanced but it certainly was not totally one sided against the Republicans.
