I loved the first episode of SONA and can't wait for more. The fact that the show was shot primarily in the dining room of a one-bedroom apartment makes it all the more impressive. I'm hoping we'll get more of this beyond the first season!
Ashley Clements is the queen of subtlety in her gradual loss of composure. Seriously, does she do coaching? I'd hire her. Her facial expression convey her frustration and her attempt to conceal panic so well. You have to watch it to fully understand.
Lauren Lopez as the computer's voice? Beautiful. Somehow managed to make an automated, siri-esque voice have personality. Just the right amount of sass and "I already told you" attitude as Ashley's Lt. Sona slowly loses control over her concern and asks several questions repeatedly.
I'm so looking forward to Brendan Bradley's appearance.
Also, I cannot get over that they built this space pod in an LA apartment dining room. Incredible.
Can't wait for episode 2!

I already knew SONA would be great, but I am even more excited to see the next seven episodes after episode 1. The music! Lauren Lopez as a computer! The writing! Ashley's acting! It's all so wonderful.
I've been a fan of pretty much all of the the creators/performers involved in this project so I had high hopes for this series, and it didn't let me down. For a project like this (without large financial backers therefore lacking Hollywood's high-tech refinement), the show almost completely relies on the acting quality. (It's hard to believe that this was almost completely filmed in a remodeled dining room.) I've seen Ashley Clements perform in multiple other projects so I expected complete competence and I must say I've gained even more respect for her acting ability; the amount of information/emotion that she can convey with a word or minute change in facial expression is staggering. Props to her!
My only actual complaint is that I think it's too short! I wish there had been more time to flesh out the details of the universe.

I took breaks after some episodes.
It was a bit triggering for my emotional disorder.
But the story was so good, I had to keep going back to finish the series.
I hope Ashley and Brendan make another Season or more.
Wish Netflix or Amazon would work with them.
So many questions yet left unanswered, so much more story they could write and make.
