Reviewers say 'Batwoman' receives mixed feedback, with criticisms targeting Ruby Rose's acting, overemphasis on LGBTQ+ themes, and weak character development. Some find the dialogue and action scenes unrealistic, and are discontent with the show's handling of political and social agendas. Conversely, Rachel Skarsten's performance as Alice is praised, and some find the show entertaining and a good addition to the Arrowverse. A few appreciate the representation of a strong female lead. Overall, opinions vary widely, reflecting both strong support and significant criticism.

God this show is so awful. Its plot is a broken mess, the acting is horrendous, and the dialogue is so painfully bad that it sounds like crap my friends would say drunk. I feel like a sugar-high kid picking out all sorts of sweets from a candy shop when it comes to how often I find flaws in the special effects and editing. They're novice-level mistakes that are highly noticeable even during your first viewing - as if you'd make yourself sit through this more than once. But if you're really curious to see how terrible it truly is, it's the most entertaining to watch with friends at 3 am to commentate with. I definitely wouldn't have made it out of this experience losing only half my brain cells without my buddies. I'm so sorry to anyone who genuinely wanted this series to be good, but this trash was destined to fail from the moment I saw the first trailer.
This is such a bad written show and acting is ... you have to see it to believe it. Swamp thing who had high ratings and was a hit everywhere is canceled . 'No wonder marvel is higher than DC
I wanted to like this. I've seen all the DC shows in the last few years but this is one I can't continue even if I was paid too.
3/10 is being VERY generous.
The screenplay alone is TERRIBLE. Characters aren't relatable at all, not to mention the acting is very sub-par. Once you get deeper into the first ep things become so predictable.
I'm all for inclusiveness but its 2019 and this show trys to go all out with straight, bi, lesbian relationships.. and somehow misses the mark on every level. Almost nobody seems to be pleased at all, which is very telling.
Ruby can do her own stunts and get injured all she wants. The action doesn't make up for the rest unfortunately.
Just watch it if you must but be prepared to want an hour of your life back!

I liked this at first. I enjoyed the visuals, the family story line, the acting (particularly that of Skarsten and Rose), and the whole idea of Bruce Wayne's female cousin finding the cave and taking over in his absence. The effort was there.
Unfortunately, the lack of logic kept pulling me out of the story, as the writers had to make their heroes conveniently stupid in order to keep the antagonist on the run. Without getting specific, I often found myself asking, "Why don't the heroes just bring the villainess to justice RIGHT NOW?" Instead, the protagonists waste time talking to her, letting her bait them, or backing down when they don't have to.
Even worse, Batwoman goes easy on the villiainess for personal reasons, putting selfishness ahead of public safety. How in the world is the audience supposed to root for a hero who does that?
Not recommended.

- QuizIn the DC Comics, Mary Elizabeth "Bette" Kane is the original Bat-Girl and served as Batwoman's sidekick and Robin's counterpart. Growing up she would adopt the alias Flamebird (and later Hawkfire) in response to her counterpart's development as Nightwing. In the comics she is Kate Kane's younger cousin instead of her step-sister.
- BlooperBatwoman clearly has black paint around her eyes whenever she wears the cowl. But whenever she takes the cowl off, there's never any paint around her eyes. This happens in several episodes and is common amongst many superhero/comic book shows with masked characters.
- Curiosità sui creditiThe Warner Bros and DC Comics logos are colored red and black (Batwoman's colours), are set in Gotham City and have bats flying around.
