Everything We Know About The New Street Fighter Movie
Image
Back in the day, you were either a Street Fighter kid or a Mortal Kombat kid. Both had their pros and cons, but you had to choose one. I mean, your parents weren’t going to shell out good money for both, right? Well, parents who actually loved their kids did. Thanks for nothing, Dad. Since I had to choose, I went with Street Fighter. The moves seemed more straightforward to do, and my mom had less of a heart attack about the cartoony violence than the bloody gore that Mortal Kombat provided. The games after Street Fighter II were plentiful, even if the movies were not great. With a new film on the horizon,...

Furious First Footage From What Promises to Be the Greatest Action Thriller in Years Is Finally Unleashed
Image
The first footage from what promises to be the greatest action thriller in decades has now been unleashed. Containing all the ingredients needed to bake the perfect action movie cake, including a cast of martial arts greats, a director known for blistering stunts, and a no-nonsense plot that takes modern action classic The Raid and Liam Neeson’s Taken and smashes them together to create a powerful genre fist, the newly released clip (which you can check out below!) teases the fast and furious things to come.

Aptly titled The Furious, this action thriller follows a simple tradesman (Miao Xie) who must fight his way through a complex web of...

La película de Netflix zarpa en octubre. © Netflix

Ryan Reynolds’ Forgotten ‘Men in Black’ Replacement Becomes a Sleeper Hit in America After 12 Years
Image
While fans continue to speculate about Ryan Reynolds’ potential involvement in Avengers: Doomsday, one pre-Deadpool film from the action star has returned to streaming charts over 10 years later. Reynolds stars alongside Jeff Bridges (Hell or High Water) and Kevin Bacon (The Bondsman) in R.I.P.D., the 2013 sci-fi buddy cop comedy following a dead detective, Nick Walker (Reynolds), who is hired by a director of a group of dead police officers to fight an army of renegade ghosts. R.I.P.D. is currently streaming on Peacock in America, where the film has crept into the top 10, sitting at #3 at the time of writing.

R.I.P.D. is the lowest-rated movie of Ryan Reynolds’ career, which...

This Weekend's Big Streaming Release Starring Samara Weaving Gets a Downright Criminal Rotten Tomatoes Rating
Image
Samara Weavingmay be a skilled getaway driver in Eenie Meanie, but that didn't stop her latest star vehicle from crashing and burning with critics. The action comedy heist flick debuted on Friday on Hulu, where it was tagged with a lackluster 48% Rotten Tomatoes score from 23 critics despite praise for the Ready or Not star and the thrills built around her. It's low enough to be the third-worst-rated film of her career on the aggregator, though still well ahead of 2021's Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins and 2016's Monster Trucks. With the film just released, audiences are still gathering their thoughts, though early scores have been more positive overall.

The Woman in Cabin 10: Keira Knightley thriller unveils first look images, gets a Netflix premiere date
Image
Last year, we learned that the Netflix streaming service had gotten a new film chief in Dan Lin – and one of the first projects Lin greenlit at the streamer is an adaptation of author Ruth Ware’s bestselling 2016 thriller novel The Woman in Cabin 10, which had Keira Knightley attached to star in it as the titular woman. Now, Netflix has announced that the film is set to have its streaming premiere on October 10th – and to start building the hype, they have unveiled a batch of first look images, which can be seen at the bottom of this article.

Simon Stone, who previously directed The Dig for Netflix, directed this film from a screenplay by Snake Eyes writers Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse (with Stone handling script revisions himself). Knightley plays a travel journalist assigned to cover the launch of a luxury yacht. When she witnesses a passenger tossed...

Chisato and Mahiro Return For More Hyper-Violent Action In Baby Assassins 3
Image
Baby Assassins 3 is officially heading to U.S. home release on August 26, 2025, courtesy of distributor Well Go USA.

The Japanese action-comedy, which originally premiered in Japan on September 27, 2024, was previously known as Baby Assassins: Nice Days during its festival run, but will be released under the title Baby Assassins 3 for its Digital and Blu-ray debut.

The film had its U.S. premiere at Fantastic Fest 2024 in Texas, where it received a warm reception. It currently holds a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, though that score comes from just 11 reviews.

Despite being labeled the third film, Baby Assassins 3 is actually the fourth entry in the franchise. It follows the original 2021 film, its 2023 sequel, and a 12-episode TV series that aired in 2024. Fortunately, each installment functions as a standalone story, so newcomers can jump in at any point without confusion.

Michael Bay's $442 Transformers Sequel Is a Stealth Streaming Hit 2 Years Later
Image
Transformers: Rise of the Beastscontinues to climb the streaming charts two years after failing to impress critics.

Per FlixPatrol, the 2023 Transformers sequel has made its way to the number eight spot on the list of top streaming series and films on MGM+ for Jul. 11. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts currently sits just above The Magnificent Seven and Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie, although it still has quite a ways to go before it catches up withthe likes of A Working Man, Godfather of Harlem, and From, which dominate the number one, two, and three spots on the chart, respectively.

Directed by Steven Caple Jr., Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was the seventh film in the long-running Transformers feature film series, and served as a follow-up to 2018's Bumblebee. The film stars Anthony Ramos as Noah Diaz, an ex-military electronics expert who is pulled into the middle of an interstellar conflict...

'G.I. Joe' Star Henry Golding Is Open for Snake Eyes Return in 'Transformers' Crossover
Image
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins star Henry Golding is open to returning for the planned crossover between G.I. Joe and Transformers, but the signs aren't looking very promising so far. Golding played the character of Snake Eyes in the 2021 G.I. Joe spin-off origin film that was intended to reboot the franchise. The ending of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which revealed that G.I. Joe existed in the same universe, implied that the rebooted G.I. Joe film was intended to align with the newly rebooted live-action Transformers continuity.

Speaking with Comic Book, Henry Golding discussed the possibility of reprising his role as Snake Eyes in the planned crossover film between Hasbro's two biggest franchises, which Chris Hemsworth will reportedly lead. Golding, at the moment, thinks that Paramount Pictures might feature a different take on G.I. Joe, possibly the team from the original duology of films, but he would love to return in some capacity.

‘G.I. Joe’ Star, 38, Delivers an Update on Planned ‘Transformers’ Crossover Return
Image
Henry Golding recently took his name out of consideration as the next James Bond, and now the star has also provided another update on another future project he’s been rumored to star in. One of Golding’s most notable roles came from starring in Snake Eyes, formerly titled Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins. The film premiered in 2021 to poor reviews from critics and mediocre reviews from audiences — it earned scores of 35% from the former and 74% from the latter on Rotten Tomatoes.

The release of 2023’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts shocked the world with its post-credit scene, one that teased a crossover with the G.I. Joe franchise. It was later reported that a crossover movie between the two was in the works, with Marvel veteran Chris Hemsworth attached to star and Derek Connolly (Jurassic World) writing the script. Golding recently caught up with Comicbook.com to chat about his new Netflix movie,...

G.I. Joe Movie Future Gets Disappointing Update As Snake Eyes Star Remains Open To Returning
Image
The future of G.I. Joegets a disappointing update, but Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins star Henry Golding remains open to returning. Based on the popular action figures, Snake Eyes premiered in 2021 and marked the first G.I. Joe installment since Retaliation, which featured Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson and was released eight years prior.

The newer G.I. Joe movie, directed by Robert Schwentke, explores a drifter (Golding) who learns from the Arashikage while seeking vengeance for the murder of his father. Despite a strong cast and compelling story, Snake Eyes failed to resonate at the box office, but there may be a door open for Golding and others to come back.

During a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Golding mentioned speculation surrounding Transformers and Snake Eyes, but revealed that he does not know if it will happen, or if a crossover would include a different G.I. Joe. However, Golding still expressed interest in returning,...

'The Old Guard 2' Met With Divisive Response from Fans on Rotten Tomatoes
Image
They may be immortal, but The Old Guard can’t avoid the savagery of audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. After waiting five years for the sequel, The Old Guard 2 has now landed on Netflix, with the response from viewers leaving much to be desired as the superhero action sequel squanders the faith left behind by the first outing.

Alongside returning cast members Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Matthias Schoenaerts, Vân Veronica Ngô, Chiwetel Ejiofor, The Old Guard 2 adds Crazy Rich Asians, Snake Eyes, and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare star Henry Golding and Kill Bill star and Hollywood icon Uma Thurman to proceedings.

Sadly, this all-star cast cannot save The Old Guard 2 from being a disappointment to viewers and fans, with the action outing now forever stamped with a toppled popcorn bucket and a rating of 44% on Rotten Tomatoes’ audience-based Popcornmeter alongside just 28% from critics.

Street Fighter | David Dastmalchian to play the villainous M Bison
Image
David Dastmalchian, star of Late Night With The Devil, has been announced as the Street Fighter film’s primary antagonist, M Bison.

Late Night With The Devil star David Dastmalchian has been unveiled as the arch villain in Legendary’s planned adaptation of Capcom’s Street Fighter videogame series. Fallout's Walton Goggins was previously said to be in negotiations for the role around a month ago, that hasn’t come to pass. Instead – thanks Deadline – it will be Dastmalchian who (presumably) dons the scarlet outfit of M Bison.

M Bison, the Street Fighter series’ big bad, is the kind of sneering villain who rocks a cloak and shoulder pads so you know he’s the final boss to end all final bosses. Nothing says ‘fascism’ like the combination of cloak, shoulder pads and a peaked military hat. And as the terrifying head of the criminal organisation known as Shadaloo,...

The Old Guard 2 Review — Charlize Theron Continues to Waste Our Time in Dull Netflix Franchise
Image
The Old Guard 2, the sequel to the Covid-era Netflix streaming hit, continues to waste our time in more ways than one. The action is dull — especially when it involves the actors — and only rises to “acceptable” when the stunt team takes over.

The script, particularly the dialogue, is yawn-inducing, making me grateful I’m not immortal. I can’t imagine watching this intellectual property get recycled for centuries. Then again, maybe it can be — since the writers have conveniently discovered a new storytelling device to write themselves out of any corner.

As Conan O’Brien jokes on his podcast, most superhero movies open a portal whenever they need one. In The Old Guard 2, immortality is traded like playing cards. Sometimes you have it, sometimes you don’t. It’s not a power—it’s a vibe.

Amid James Bond Casting Rumors, G.I. Joe Franchise Star Calls 007 Role 'Every Actor's Nightmare'
Image
James Bond contender Henry Golding has offered a candid take on playing 007. The actor has often been mentioned as a leading candidate to succeed Daniel Craig as the MI6 spy.

Golding is perhaps known for starring in the comedies Crazy Rich Asians and Last Christmas, though he has plenty of action experience thanks to Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen and playing the title character in the G.I. Joe spinoff Snake Eyes. In a recent interview with People, Golding had mixed feelings aboutpotentially playing 007.

"I think that's every actor's kind of nightmare," Golding confessed. "But at the same time, [you're] also wanting to kind of add something new to a franchise."

The Old Guard 2 actor suggested he might feel more comfortable if Bond producers sought him out to play one of the other MI6 agents in the same cinematic universe.

"Why can't they bring out more agents or more 00's?...

Henry Golding Calls Bond Bid “A Nightmare” as Amazon’s 007 Overhaul Accelerates
Henry Golding at an event for Crazy & Rich (2018)
Henry Golding says stepping into James Bond would be “every actor’s kind of nightmare,” describing the strain of inheriting cinema’s most scrutinized tuxedo during a red-carpet chat at Netflix’s The Old Guard 2 premiere in Los Angeles on 25 June. The 38-year-old added that he would “love it so much more if there wasn’t that overhanging cultural pressure,” floating the idea of fresh double-0 agents to ease expectations.

His remarks arrive as Amazon MGM reshapes the franchise: on the same day, the studio confirmed Denis Villeneuve as director of Bond 26 and executive producer alongside Tanya Lapointe, promising “new missions to come.” The appointment follows February’s joint-venture deal that gave Amazon creative control while longtime stewards Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson remain co-owners, with Amy Pascal and David Heyman producing.

Casting, however, remains an open question. Aaron Taylor-Johnson again dodged queries at the London premiere of 28 Years Later,...

Jon M. Chu’s Forgotten Film Had a Squid Game Star and a Christopher Nolan Problem
Image
Jon M. Chu is one of the most influential directors in Hollywood, who has built a reputation for himself by majorly working on smash-hit standalone films and making them memorable with a perfect cast. However, he could also be found on the other side of the fence, where he is part of a major franchise that has earned him praise from major filmmakers in the industry.

One such film was G.I. Joe: Retaliation, the 2nd film in the G.I. Joe franchise. While the film was not a major success like its predecessor, it was not a box office bomb either, receiving a very passable response from the fans.

This was a major shocker for the fans because it featured a major Squid Game star, but it faced a major problem that was not taken in a good note by the viewers.

James Bond Favorite Henry Golding Still Wants 007 Role: "Sign Me Up"
Image
One of the firm favorites for the role of the next James Bond in Amazon’s upcoming reboot is very much on board, saying “sign me up” when asked whether he is still interested in picking up the mantle of 007. It is not currently known who will take over from Daniel Craig following 2021’s No Time to Die, but with rumors abound and the project being fast-tracked, it surely won’t be long before we find out who will don the iconic tux. But will it be Crazy Rich Asians and The Old Guard 2 star Henry Golding?

Speaking to RadioTimes about his name being in contention for the role of James Bond in the action series reboot, Golding said it was a “privilege” to even be considered for such an iconic character.

"Obviously, it's a privilege to be in any conversation for a property like that. Whatever happens, I'm excited...

Image
The next live-action Street Fightermovie adaptation has faced a few hurdles as of late, but it seems the project is finally taking shape. Legendary is moving forward with the reboot, and they look to add some of the most prominent faces in the action genre to the main cast.

According to Deadline, Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, and Roman Reigns are in talks to lead Legendary's new Street Fighter film, which is set to be directed by Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip). It is currently unknown who is writing the screenplay or producing the feature-length project. Street Fighter was first announced by the studio back in 2023, with Talk to Me's Danny and Michael Philippou attached to direct. Sakurai has since replaced the filmmaking duo, but that did little to stop the film from being moved off its Mar. 20, 2026 theatrical release date. ‘Fight or Flight’ Review: Josh Hartnett Is So Committed It Hurts in Bonkers (and Awesome) ‘John Wick’ Send-Up
Image
Thank God for Josh Hartnett. We live in a deeply troubled world, so miserable lately that it’s hard to find the motivation to look out a window let alone watch a cheesy action movie. But Hartnett provides. The actor may not have written or directed the new high-octane, high altitude action-comedy “Fight or Flight” but it’s his put upon, simultaneously early-and-late era Daffy Duck energy that makes it soar.

“Fight or Flight” stars Hartnett as Lucas Reyes, a bedraggled cab driver, permanently hung over and sporting frosted tips in the year 2025, so you know he’s having a rough one. He gets a call from his ex-girlfriend and ex-boss Katherine Brunt (Katee Sackhoff), and she’s in a pickle. You see, Reyes used to work in the Secret Service before he got railroaded, and he’s been living on the run ever since. All he has to do...

The Wowow Bridge subsidiary was set up to provide a full suite of services to international film and television projects targeting shoots in Japan. The company’s decision to launch a production services arm grew from its experience as...

Havoc Director Shares Promising Update on The Raid 3 After Reuniting With Star
Image
There still might be hope for another entry in The Raid franchise.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly about his new Netflix action film Havoc, director Gareth Evans revealed that he initially had an idea for a third The Raid movie, but ultimately dropped it. However, a few years ago, he gained new inspiration after reuniting with lead actor Iko Uwais in Indonesia, stating, "We keep in touch, we WhatsApp each other all the time, but this was the first time I'd seen him in a long time. And I've always seen Iko, because of the nature of how we met and the projects we've done, as my younger kid brother. And then, seeing him after the seven-year gap of time, I was kind of struck by how much he'd grown, how much he'd matured, how many different experiences he'd had."

From that reunion, the filmmaker "came away feeling like I...

'The Raid' Star Iko Uwais’ New Action Movie 'Wings of Dread' Gets Thrilling First Trailer
Image
Criminally underrated action star Iko Uwais is back doing what he does best in the first look at upcoming action thriller, Wings of Dread. Combining the martial arts spectacle of one of the best modern action movies of all time, The Raid, and the claustrophobic setting of a plane, Wings of Dread should rapidly be climbing your must-see action movie list.

Co-directed by Pengfei Qin (Red Cliff) and Ashton Chen (Ip Man 2), the latter of whom also stars alongside Uwais, specific plot details for Wings of Dread are being kept under wraps for now, but what we can gather from the (frustratingly brief) footage, which you can check out below, is that Wings of Dread will find both Uwais and Chen demonstrating their particular set of skills while 30,000 feet in the air.

Wings of Dread reportedly marks the first of several collaborations between Iko Uwais and the streaming platform iQIYI,...

One Final Trailer for Very Unique 'Seneca' Film Starring John Malkovich
Image
"I did it for Rome." Freestyle Digital Media has debuted their official trailer for the film Seneca, made by director Robert Schwentke who worked in Hollywood for years (he last made Snake Eyes before this). The full title is actually Seneca - On the Creation of Earthquakes - this first premiered at the 2023 Berlin Film Festival a few years ago and opened in Germany that year. But most critics hated it and reviews have been harsh. It's about the relationship between Seneca and Nero, the infamous Emperor he mentored since childhood and who accused him of plotting his assassination. The plot revolves around Nero telling him to kill himself and Seneca's response to this directive. "Schwentke has made a pyrotechnic display of a film that is almost peerless in its use of over-the-top punchlines, splatter-sarcasm, love of verbal precocity. Stunning & incredibly topical, Seneca asks: is the educated elite a victim...
