Awesome!!!

This was so great! I admire the cast so much. They actually make fun of themselves without being obnoxious and keep the viewer looking forward to whats next. Can't wait to see next week's episode!!!

Unbelievable

This was the best "reboot" I've ever seen!!! Priceless! Beautiful tribute to Luke Perry. Whomever thought this type of concept up is brilliant!

It's not a reboot!

The people who are disappointed were expecting a reboot of the original 90210. If they had read ANYTHING about the show, they'd know that was never the plan. The actors are playing caricatures of themselves, much like the show Episodes starring Matt LeBlanc. So in this reality they were all stars of the 90s show, but their lives apart from that are different. The first episode was fun and I can't wait to see where they take it. The only disappointment is that they didn't spend much time talking about Luke Perry. They did acknowledge him, but I felt like there could have been more.

This show is juicy, funny, messy and I am all in

Hated the first 10 minutes. I was cringing. Then they all met up and the magic started. Love how self-deprecating the script is. We're not laughing at them, we're laughing with them. We all took ourselves so seriously 20 years ago and now that we have some perspective we can look back to laugh and cry at how life can be so messy and unpredictable. There's so much nostalgia wrapped up in this show but at the same time it's very fresh and modern. The sign of a good show is when you're so caught up you lose track of the time and the ending feels abrupt and leaves you wanting more. This is that show!

A pleasant surprise

Before this started I was thinking how pathetic and embarrassing this sounded, but I was wrong.

It was really well done. Particularly because they addressed and made fun of things in their real lives, like failed marriages, Tori Spelling's money troubles, etc.

My favorite moment is where Ian Ziering explodes at Tori and says "How could you grow up with every advantage in life and still struggle to support your kids?

"It's mind boggling to me!!"

They also did some wonderful, subtle tributes to Luke Perry without being sappy or lingering on it.

I'm really looking forward to next week's episode now.

Luke Perry was offered to reprise his role as Dylan McKay, but had to back out due to his commitment to Riverdale (2017). However, he was willing to do as many guest appearances as he could. Sadly, Perry never got the chance, he passed away in March 2019.

The series revolves around a reboot of Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990), but fictional Tori's idea is more akin to that of a revival (such as the 2018 revivals of Pappa e ciccia (1988) and Murphy Brown (1988)), where the original characters are returning, some years after the end of the original series. A reboot, as its name implies, is when all previous continuity is discarded and started over from scratch.
