I've seen a comment on here about wishing the stuff from the movie would happen to the creators. Why are you watching scary movies???? Go back to Disney channel. This movie has an interesting storyline that keeps you watching to find out what happens. It's one of the better horror movies I've watch this year.
So many movies have been doing the "web cam" style since, you know what, and I can appreciate what the movie has to offer. Trust me I've seen a lot of TERRIBLE and actually GROTESQUE movies. The actors did a great job.

I happened to stumble upon the 2019 movie "Making Monsters" in 2021. I had never heard about it, and I didn't even know what it was about. However, I saw the movie's cover and figured it to be a horror movie, so of course I ended up watching "Making Monsters".
And while "Making Monsters" from writer Justin Harding was watchable, it was not really an outstanding or memorable horror movie. Sure, the storyline was adequately entertaining, but it just didn't bring anything new or fresh to the table, so it was essentially just a fairly average addition to the genre.
Directors Justin Harding and Rob Brunner managed to make the movie watchable, just a shame that the contents of the script and storyline was a bit restrictive. The movie suffered from being a bit cluttered and lacking ups and downs to its storyline. The story just trotted out there is a fairly monotonous pace, for better or worse.
The acting in the movie was actually good, and actors Tim Loden, Jonathan Craig and actress Alana Elmer actually carried the movie quite well. Now, "Making Monsters" is not a movie that has a lot of people on the cast list, so there was a bit of extra pressure on the actors and actresses performances, and luckily they rose to the occasion.
For a horror movie then "Making Monsters" just didn't cut it for me, no pun intended. The movie wasn't scary, and it felt like writer Justin Harding was just riding it safe and playing on horses that have been in horror movies before.
I am rating "Making Monsters" a slightly less than mediocre four out of ten stars. It was watchable, but this movie came and went without catching my attention, and it is a movie that will quietly fade into oblivion in my book.

Just randomly decided to stream this movie. For an independent film, it definitely grabbed my attention more than normal. I went into it, expecting a really bad movie, but was delightfully surprised that it kept my attention.
Reflecting on the movie as a whole, it feels like it was struggling to understand its own identity. The plot seemed like copied and pasted good parts from wildly different scary movies. All culminating in a very watchable movie that lacked any sort of cohesion. A storyline that gives ADHD on cocaine vibes.
Last but not least, the actress makes one dumb face throughout the whole movie, it was unbearable to see.

Saw this at 2020 Nevermore Horror Film Festival. Although a low budget film, its great orchestral score helped accentuate the suspense. I preferred to know as little as possible about the plot going in, and it certainly kept me guessing about what was going to happen next, and who set this into motion until the finale, which is difficult to do well. So, I won't spoil any of it here either.
If you are not into reality tv and/or prank shows, you may have to overcome a bit of ... well story plot to be interested or even invested. Then again, almost every movie needs to have some of that. If you can overcome that hurdle there is quite some tension and the movie is nicely told and edited.
Indulge it and it will be somewhat rewarding. Be offended from the start and you've wasted your time ...
