Acting is commendable they both have lifted their acting skill , a well suited role they have got, but there is problem with other things , movie started quite slow & once its start picking pace its quite predictable in the end so you know the killer before the end.

Bravo Bollywood! Breaking new frontier and how! Kangana solidified her status as the reigning actor and Raj Kumar Rao was his usual chameleon self. Music could have been better but that's not a deterrent for a cinephile at all!

U can criticize #JudgementallHaiKya but u definitely cant ignore it. Hats off to plucky producers #ektakapoor n #shaileshrsingh for narrating a story which no other mainstream film would dare to. Girl is supposed to be mental. She visualizes situations n characters that exist only in her insane head. Boy is her tenant, hes well behaved n hes happily married. So whys girl stalking boy? Why does she feel that hes upto no good? Knockout performances by kangana n rajkummar make this film immensely watchable. Cant wait to see the next venture of director #prakashkovelamudi. Rating 3.5/5.

It's one of those films that begins with a promising plot but lost its path in the midway.
Bollywood's first ever commercial approach to this specific genre has failed to impress!
Performances aside, The story was not that bad but the execution to the conclusive part left a Incomplete feeling overall. Makers have tried to portray the story with too much weirdness and quirkyness that transformed it into a mess. Although the technical sides were fully capable of pulling such efforts but lack of strict direction and overly usage of weirdness spoiled the entire game.
At the end it's a film that would be remembered for its failed attempt rather than the minor positives it tried to bring. Unfortunately.

Could be much better, the actors are so finesse but somehow the story doesn't work that well.

Great experimental film and quite modern take. Excellent 1st half, 2nd half drags a bit but grasps towards the end. Overall excellent film and not to be missed. Kangana is on another level, and surprises each time with her acting skills, Raj is excellent and gives great competition to Kangana. It's a must watch and definitely a quality cinema.

Although, Anurag Kashyap could have pulled it off much better, the film-makers yet managed to nail it with good balance of style & substance. Surely, this film is not everyone's cup of tea 'cause its a very new platter of bizarreness & surrealism, something that's not a stereotype Bollywood.
The first quarter of the movie is a bit lame & has cringe-worthy moments wherein they introduce the characters whilst trying hard to feed the audience how bizarre & psychotic is Bobby, the lead, played by Kangana. Dialogs & moments that were meant to be funny can't even manage to get a smirk. Editing is quite abrupt and after every last line delivered, there's a moment of blank faces of characters just looking at each other as you wonder 'Ok...so, why....what are they thinking?'.
But the momentum gains when Bobby's obsession on Keshav (her tenant), rises and his wife is found dead. Editing dept. takes a sharp turn and starts to blend Bobby's psychosis with flashes of her delusions while the plot keeps rolling.
Satish Kaushik as the police detective was a bad choice as it was seemingly obvious that he can act no more. Rajkumar Rao's full potential wasn't explored but he makes a good screen presence. Kangana is surely the one who steals the show.
The pace of the movie increases further, high up till the climax with a twist. The Cinematography & Art direction especially in the second half is lavish & very well done. Red Herrings & Foreshadowing are appropriately used and nothing is overdone, making the movie crisp, subtle & short.
Overall, JHK is a refreshing experience and quite original to be in Bollywood's scarce list of Psychological thrillers; perhaps straight after Raman Raghav 2.0.

First half is interesting but later and climax part is boring. It could have been much better. Illusions of Kangana mostly irritates us and we do not understand what is real and what is not. Three characters moving around Kangana at climax is a stupid idea and gives us unreal feeling of this psycho thriller. There is no suspense in whole movie. It is open plot then climax should have better and effective. Kangana steals the show. Half better half boring movie.

After a long long time watched a wonderful crafted bollywood movie. Brilliant effort put up by the whole team in making this new experiment. Kangna and Rajkumar are way way ahead of their contemporaries in terms of acting. Story, direction, screenplay, acting and every other thing was superb. Really can say that bollywood is slowly slowly catching up with Hollywood.

Performances from both the lead were as usually good, feels like they weren't playing their respective characters, like they both were living them. Since it's a thriller, 2 hours length was sufficient. The only flaw is the second half.

This is worth watching and I don't understand how this has such low ratings. I rate this a seven because of some technical issues I noticed in the movie and some other stuff regarding the story. Overall this is definitely worth watching, don't expect a masterpiece, but this is more than just "not bad". It's good. I loved how it makes you question yourself and the characters again and again. It really does live up to it's title once you watch the ending. I wouldn't say I wasted any time watching this movie. I watched this passively however this was a great time pass and a great movie. These kinds of movies is what I consider a 7.

Average 1st half and horrible 2nd half. Sloppy direction & inconsistent pacing takes away any fun it could have had.
Kangana is way too over the top. Seems like they took character of Kusum and dialled it to 11. Was expecting TWMR from Kangana. Got Revolver Rani instead. Rajkumar Rao is the only saving grace.
Overall, a cheap knock-off of a low budget Netflix thriller. Murder Mystery is a Masterpiece compared to this.

The concept was pretty good, but the whole parallel dimension scenario where Kangana goes into the other characters and scenes is poorly executed, it feels like it is 'weird' just for the sake of it. Also, the 3 weird characters she sees and talks to in the second half were totally cringy and it pretty much disengages the audience, Rajkumar rao was very good, all the actors did their job well, Kangana overacted a bit imo. Overall I didn't like it much

Judgemental Hai Kya (2019) Hindi
Movie review. My rating: 3.5/5
A devilish exploration into two twisted minds that tingles your grey cells but culminates in a predictable finish.
The movie revolves around Bobby (Kangana Ranaut) a psychotic girl who has a traumatic past, works as a dubbing artist, does origami and owns a cat named panauti. A young couple Keshav (Rajkumar Rao) and Reema (Amyra Dastur) comes to live as Bobby's tenants. Bobby finds herself drawn to the couple and is also attracted to Keshav. She begins to spy on the couple and deduces that Keshav is a liar and a shady person. One day she spots Keshav trying to put Reema in the path of a running car and as she yells out Keshav stops Reema. She decides to convey her feelings to Reema and finds that Reema is dead from an apparent gas-leak related fire accident. Bobby promptly tells the police that Keshav has murdered his wife. The police are made unsure by Keshav's statement that Bobby may be killer as she is obsessed with him. So, has Bobby imagined everything or is Keshav a killer?
Prakash Kovelamudi directs with great expertise and I felt like watching a Hitchcock plot with Stanley Kubrick visuals. This is arguably one of the best cinematography I have watched in recent years. Cinematographer Pankaj Kumar plays with the camera and shades of colors to display the intricacies of Bobby's mind. Kanika Dhillon's screenplay is good but her cameo appearance as an actor playing Sita is even better.
The only low points were the editing (the first half could have been curtailed by at least 15 minutes) and the sound effects which at times marred the mood of a scene.
Great performances by the entire cast lifts the movie. Exceptional acting from Rajkumar Rao, Satish Kaushik, Amrita Puri, Jimmy Shergill and Brijendra Kala but the movie solely belongs to Kangana Ranaut. She makes the audience walk through the quirky and weird mind of Bobby as well as its fragility. My favorite scene is when Bobby realizes that she is becoming schizophrenic but at the same time fixated on exposing Keshav.
Aside from the obvious thriller element, the movie also depicts the behavior of society towards the mentally ill and a brilliant take on the safety of women in both broad and short strokes. Definitely watch the movie but don't treat it only as a suspense thriller, there is more depth and that is the brilliance of the filmmaker. The brain may be muddled up but if the mind is sharp one can do anything.
This movie is so bad what happen to kangana where's the queen actress or even tanu wed manu one. she keep doing overacting its an addition of revolver rani
and simran plus to confuse critics bring in rajkumar rao add few dark scenes plus murder mystery.
2nd half was a little bit louder than expected but it was a new experience. Some scenes were very subtle, and one could easily guess that common masses might fail to get it. A blend of humour, suspense and fine acting.
Overall a good movie, brilliant acting.
