Entertaining

A body-swap story that started of pretty good. This type of film can be fun if done well. Here we have two girls who are psychologically opposite. Katie Price is a prima-donna with an inflated ego. Confident and beautiful yet cruel and unfeeling to those around her. While the other, Cassandra, is timid, lacks self confidence. Has a musical talent and a compassion for others. She admires Kate and wishes she could be more like her. After Kate plays a cruel prank on her at school Cassandra wishes Kate could learn what it's like to walk in her shoes. Voila! With a touch of movie magic her wish becomes a reality. Predictable confusion ensues. I could have done without the over-preachy religious subplot. There's a good idea underlying the film which definitely had more potential. Nevertheles it was entertaining enough.

the title tells it all

Its the magic shift of two very diametral opposite personalities that has great opportunistic feelings for eachother, allthough they admire some things of eachothers way of being. its a very generic take of the genre, no other new idea than that the social media platforms plays a great part in the storys plot.

it has a slow and daft start where the bullyemic tendencies between young females are really protruding, the film though has a second gear when the shapeshifting starts, its becoming a lot more cool and funny, but not hilarious.

the actors are all young and pretenscious without impressive impresion, they are far too scripted, and the stress lies in the foreheads wrinkles. the use of social media means extremely fast shifting and barely readable chit-chat of a biggabongingly bloggerised world there the thumbs up and likes are the most important part of life, and the grade of bullying are close to unacceptable.

its just that im a grumpy old man, that have overslept far too many years in the electronic devices class, its a whole new world, i dont think its bold nor braver than the one i grew up with a landline telephone and a vic 20 and a tape recorder to programme and save the digital codes.

so bare over with me, its a film that you wont regret having watched, neither is it a new kid on the block.a small recommend to view to the sassy young ones at the pyjama party next weekend

Oddly Religious

Wanted to like this bc it stars a TikTok creator I follow. Hoped for your typical silly switched lives movie, but found more of a religious movie.

Teen switch movie, focuses on school bullying.

I admit I didn't expect much going into this viewing, I only watched it because it was a free rental from my public library and it had "zero" requests. No waiting. So my wife and I started it at our usual 7PM movie time at home. In all we enjoyed it more than we expected we would.

"Switched" movies are nothing new but this one brings a different twist to things and, probably to the objection of some viewers, invokes God through prayer. But it is not a "hit you over the head" with religion script. Overall it has a very good message, why not try talking to and understanding others rather than make fun of those who are different?

It also is a parody of today's heavy emphasis, especially among teens, of social media and "influencers." One of the teens (actually almost 30 in real life) was such a popular influencer (and a bully) that her parents had quit their jobs and relied on the daughter to support the family in a very well off lifestyle.

I must mention John Schneider, now 60, who was one of the parents. I first saw him in the 1979 "Dukes of Hazard" TV series which he started as an 18 or 19 year old. Now over 40 years later he is still in fine form. Good for you John.

Wow

I couldn't even go past the first 10 minutes. The acting was so bad. Like so bad! The dialogue is clunky and beyond predictable. Normally I won't give up this quickly but Wow it was sooo bad!!!!

I don't understand the high rated reviews but I do get the overall low rating

Poor acting, was expected the nonsensical plot and writing wasn't.

In all body swap movies they attempt to be the person they've swapped into - in this one they immediately act like themselves to the utter confusion of everybody.

Plus I didn't like either of the characters as they are both very confusing - Katie seems to have no self awareness even though she lives her life on social media and is herself a "brand" and Cassandra seems to have no concept of the perception of others even though the preoccupation of others perceptions is a hallmark of social anxiety which she says she has.

40 minutes in with over an hour to go and I gave up.

Been done before but surprisingly well done

I have seen all of them through the years. Body swap movies are not new. I can count at least 30 in the US alone in the last nearly 100 years. Everyone knows the big ones. Freaky Friday, Big, Vice Versa. They are formulaic and predictable for sure. And Switched doesn't do much to break out of the mold. But the two actresses playing the leads and the actors playing the parents make you run the gamut of emotions in this outing. You really can, if you allow yourself to get past the "oh it's another body swap movie where they learn about each other and themselves in the process" thought processes, to really get sucked into the lives of these two girls and start rooting for them. It has it's problems and loses some points just due to the fact that it HAS been done to death. But overall this is an enjoyable movie and worth the watch.

Rip off of a much better Series

I honestly can't believe they blatantly ripped off the 2018 Japanese Netflix series which is amazing compared to this 0 star abomination and in doing so did a terrible job.

Too True

Someone commented that this movie was completely unrealistic which is true, but that's a shame isn't it? Think about it. If people are sheep, as they say, then why don't we provide them with something more positive to follow? It's goofy, fun and corny, but I like it.

I have no idea why rating is so low (recomended)

HI, so i just watched this movie and i really liked it, the message it deliveres is extremly important and kind. actiong is okaysh nothing seemed annoying or anything, its funny to watch and makes you feel like you're still in your early teenage years. I was so upset when I saw the rating of this movie was so low, so i had to write my own perspective as well :)

The 2 leads were just fantastic

The movie itself was ok overall - but far too religious.

As a non-religious person - or even if I was of another religion, this would be very insulting.

Being too heavy of religion is not good...it's not real - and the overall script was decent.

The two leads did an exceptional job of easily switching character - back and forth with almost no issue and no flaws.

2 fine performers who no doubt would excel in other movies with ease.

Yes, there is a very good resemblance to Lindsay Lohan - and maybe the two can get together at some point and work with that.

Could have used more fighting to really bring out the differences between them.

Also too heavy on social media stuff.

The world exists outside of social media - and so should movies.

Really good!!

This movie was really good with a important educational message: to Lead with Love, and to love each other. I enjoyed it but I did think it was a bit girly but that's ok.

7/10 stars.

To mean girls

It's a story to dawn mean girls in high school that don't be mean. Idea is damn old but watch it once a while is quite relieving especially when see how bad people turning into good ones. It's a movie but try to change people mind is why I rate so high. Social responsibility I see.

Quite good....

A classic switching places film with a nice moral.

I spent most of the film confused. I was convinced it was an older film, I really thought that one of the leads was Lindsey Lohan. So couldn't work out why the social media references were so up to date. Why would Lindsay Lohan make another switching places film. Only realised when I looked it up on IMDb that it's a modern film.

It's worth watching. It kept my interest as I wanted to see the resolution.

Poorly directed

I feel that this movie wasn't directed very well. Some scenes were a bit cringe to watch. The bodyswap genre doesn't need to be hyperrealistic, but at times the characters just lacked any form of common sense. And some scenes could have used a few more takes to get the best performance out of the actors.

The 'unpopular' girl is the most attractive, they could have at least made an effort to make her look like she wasn't popular. The movie is a bit too religious for my taste. I don't mind religion in movies but in this movie it felt a bit too preachy. There's no humor in this movie either. It's not that the jokes felt flat or anything, there aren't any jokes to begin with. It's just not a comedy nor does it try to be.

I did like the end credits, it was different from the standard white text on black background scroll and more movies should explore this approach. The movie has a positive message and it's definitely aimed at a younger (Christian) audience.

If you're an adult who likes the bodyswap genre then you might want to save your money. There's nothing in this movie you haven't seen before done better.

A Christian Comedy

This film begins with a high school student by the name of "Cassandra Evans" (Miya Horcher) being bullied in school by several of the more popular girls with one in particular named "Katie Sharp" (Madeleine Byrne) leading in the harassment of her. For her part, Katie has made a name for herself as a social influencer with millions of people worldwide logging onto her webpage to see her latest homemade video. And because she is so popular, she feels the need to separate herself from others by publicly humiliating them--with Cassandra being her primary target. To that effect, it eventually gets to the point that Cassandra prays for relief one night and requests that Katie walk a day in her shoes. The next morning, Cassandra finds herself in Katie's body while Katie has also been switched into Cassandra's body as well--and it's then that both of them begin to experience the other person's point of view. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this is clearly not the first film to adopt this rather familiar plot. What I found interesting about it, however, was the fact that it was used from a Christian perspective--and in the form of a comedy no less! That was quite surprising. To be sure, this is not the best comedy from a soul transference angle. But it wasn't all that bad either, and I have rated it accordingly. Average.

More movies like this please!

Such a positive message, our girls need more movies like this! My 9-year-old daughter loves this, and has watched it several times now. I also love the inclusion of faith as well. Ignore the negative reviews.

lazy

Cassandra Evans is the school nerd musician with one and only friend. She admires popular girl Katie Sharp. She tries to befriend the queen bee mean girl, but it all goes wrong. She becomes Katie Sharp's target for bullying. In frustration, she prays that Katie Sharp would walk in her shoes. The two girls wake up in each other's bodies.

This is Freaky Friday and Mean Girls with a healthy dose of Christianity. I'm fine with all of that if it's written well. The setup is fine. I like this until the girls switch. They should be smart enough to try playing the other person. The comedy comes when they try and fail. At the start, they're not even trying. Then there are the girls and the two personalities. There are so many things to play with and the movie doesn't do them. The characters need to be more specific so that the two actresses can do more specific acting. It is all a bit lazy.

Wonderful movie

Me and my daughter loved this movie. Great moral to the story and I loved that it was christian based. I am shocked that it had such a low rating. Give it a try if you like to find movies with a moral to the story.
