Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur are ready to fight crime in the new animated series: Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur! Based on the comic book of the same name, this show highlights the world of S. T. E. M. to young children and inspires learning more about it. Fans of the original comic book and other Marvel fans will love the new series as well.
Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur follows 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette (Diamond White), who one day-while helping bring power back to her town-accidentally makes a time portal and spawns a ten-ton red T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur (Fred Tatasciore), into present-day New York City. The duo works together on missions to protect the city's Lower East Side from danger.
I love how well the series connects to the actual comic book featuring the main characters Lunella and Devil Dinosaur. From the animation, the costumes, to the gadgets, everything relates to the original comic story. My favorite part of the series is when Lunella is fighting multiple villains in the episode. During that time she is constantly asked what her hero name is and she never is able to give an answer. That scene adds humor to the show and gives a bit of backstory on the title. It's incredible how Marvel is now incorporating a kids' animated series to the MCU. It's a great addition! The characters are extremely relatable in this series. Great detail is given to character development and design, even down to Lunella's goggles. I love the way different shapes appear in them based on what she's saying or on her emotions. This show is highly creative.
This series highlights the importance of friendship, acceptance, being yourself and using your strengths to do something great. In the series, even though the Devil Dinosaur randomly shows up and is a different species, Lunella is able to bond and become friends with it. She also gets teased because she is extremely intelligent. When she accepts her gifts and becomes Moon Girl, she is then able to be herself and use her tech-savvy talents to help save her community.
I give this series 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for kids ages 5-12, plus adults. You can watch the premiere of Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur on Disney Channel on February 10, 2023, and on Disney+ starting February 15, 2023. By Tiana S., KIDS FIRST!

Don't listen to the old grumps complaining that it wasn't made for them because it doesn't appeal to people that read a comic from 1978. This is a fun, light show with animation that pops and has a great style. My 8-year-old daughter enjoys it. Some of the references go over her head (i.e. Internet trolls, social media) but when it's on she's pretty enamored with it and I find myself enjoying too.
I've seen some people complaining its not deep and that there's not much character development and while that is true can't help find that rich coming from a generation whose cartoons were thirty minute toy commercials.
Anyways, I love the narration that feels like a throwback to Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons (how's that for old). I like the family dynamic and you can never go wrong with Alfre Woodard. If you got kids check it out and watch it with them, you might find yourself having fun with it too.

Some music scenes reminded me of the Jackson Five cartoons. Yes, I'm an old(er) viewer. But I still love animation/cartoons. I have managed to watch about 6 episodes so far. The animation is top notch. I love the relationship of Lunella/Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. The Casey character is one of my favorites to come along in a long time. The parents and grandparents are really cool and up-to-date. I hadn't heard of the comic and found the show while flipping through channels one afternoon. The music is great and very up-to-date sounding. I'm hoping the show is able to attract a loyal following. It's a really cute show.

Moon Girl is stylish, inspirational, and a delight to watch. The titular character has a supportive family (which she is also very supportive of!), a keen intellect, and a tendency to get into and sometimes cause trouble. Devil the dinosaur, her partner in fighting crime, is adorable and has a puppy-like vibe, giving his name irony.
I've seen most of the first six episodes, and it's presented as a "lesson of the day" format, but without a great deal of preachiness (again, irony with the title here). The lessons flow well into the plot and are even incorporated into the battles. Battles against villains (or would-be villains come friends) includes stylish music, including some show-stoppers by popular artists that tie in well to the theme of the episode. The art pops like crazy in these scenes, and people are gonna compare it to Into the Spider-Verse. Yeah, it's lit like that.
That said, while I love the style, format, and lessons of the show, I think it struggles to stay grounded (pun intended). It has already somewhat run into the trap of "protagonist learns lessons and forgets them when the plot calls for it", and I expect the trend will continue. Having great standalone episodes is great, but we've already seen Disney shows that can have both great standalone episodes and overall consistency with Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy's Law. These shows grew funnier over time, with an immense amount of layered humor, several interweaving plots, and beloved characters.
Like the titular character, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur has a ton of potential and has lots of style, but could really use a more cohesive direction.

This is one of those situations as a 30 year old I'm jealous of kids, we might have had Proud Family and maybe Danny Phantom, but wow this is amazing animation and story telling: I'm not the target demo for this but I am eternally grateful for this series: even if you're just a music fan you have to check this out because Raphael Saadiq supervising the music is literally a dream come true for why audiophiles out there. Even the commercial break transitions are pristine. If you're into animation this is incredible. If you're a kid that like good stories this is better than even old school Batman and the Justice League cartoons.

I thought this show was going to be a trash show by 'modern' Disney and even if they are moments where they have a cross line moments the show is still entertaining and good. I still can't promised this show is the best thing you could see in this platform but still is something you can spend a good time seeing.
Btw the animation and voice were very interesting giving comic sensations as the which is not something very common on this company but is very amazing how they manage to do many episodes with this type of animation.
So I'll give this a 6/10 so even if its not the best thing disney has made its the best that you can get in this company as is still damaged.

As an adult the level of representation speaks to my inner child! I love the music especially the theme song! The diversity of LES and the issues that surface that moon girl and D face. I love the voice actors!! They do such an amazing job. I can't wait to have a kid so they can watch this show one day. I love the character development and how each voice actor represents the culture of the character. I love the community and how they come together in the show. I mean it's so beautifully written with such intention it's very clear. It's such a modern cartoon with a classic touch. A Black Family that owns a skating rink that loves their neighbors and their neighbors love them!! It doesn't get any better than that.
I watched this as a Marvel fan, but it is clearly written and produced for children. That's not a shot, it's simply the truth.
The animation is colorful and flashy, with plenty of symbols and thought bubbles to emphasize the ideas being sent out.
Everything moves at a traditionally rapid-fire cartoon pace, which is fine when the target audience has a short attention span.
I have great memories of Moon-Boy and Devil Dinosaur from the comics of my youth, but I was open to a modern reworking of that dynamic. The problem for me is the awful music and lack of character development in the episodes. Obviously, neither of these things will be issues for young fans, but I find the show to be difficult to watch.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is one of the best Disney cartoons HANDS DOWN. It's a show that has things for everyone to enjoy. Comic reader or not. Nobody could truly hate this show. First off, the animation is absolutely AMAZING. The character designs are cool and the fight scenes and music videos are vibrant, creative, and colorful. It feels like I'm watching an animated comic book and it reminds me of the spiderverse movies. The animation is done by the same studio behind Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Lego Monkie Kid, Flying Bark Studios, which explains why it's so good!
The characters are well-written and the representation that this show brings is very important. The music is good. The show is also extremely funny, and isn't afraid to get serious and emotional. The voice actors are talented and are perfect for the characters.

A very well made show overflowing with style even though it may be lacking slightly in character development and substance it more than makes up for that with eye popping animation reminiscent of into the spider verse, and overall well written characters. Not everything needs to be insanely complex to be enjoyable this show knows exactly what is a fun action packed romp with interesting characters and a heartfelt story, with messages about family friendship and teamwork while not being overly preachy like a lot of kids shows fall habbit to. I recommend it wholeheartedly and have no doubt the second season will build of the great stuff set up this season, I for one can't wait.

A thoughtful and vibrant depiction of the smartest super-genius in the Marvel universe and her world in the LES. From the title track, to the overall colors/aesthetics, to capturing the essence of her relationships with family and friends, and dealing with the relatable problems that most kids do face - Moon Girl is the kind of show I would've loved to see growing up. It's literally the first show where I've seen the creators ensure their characters pronounce every diverse name correctly- which may not seem like a big deal, but it is.
The soundtrack completely takes this show to another level. I recently downloaded the album from Spotify, and I can't wait to see how they use these tracks and incorporate them in the show.
It's a balanced mix of culture, vibrancy, music, and lightheartedness. Can't wait for the rest of the episodes!

There's so much to appreciate-
It doesn't take itself too seriously but is still watchable by adults/teens
Lunella is adorable and has a great dynamic with Casey
Lunella's family is supportive, loving, and in general breaks every overdone edgy trope
She also roller skates which isn't really a pro for everyone but it definitely is for me!
It handles hard to execute properly themes well Casey is great and I love that her femininity is never demonized The art style is really fun and distinct The beyonder is camp in all the best ways.
Good songs!
Overall it's just really fun and fluffy and has quickly become a comfort show
The only real cons are- The whole weekly lesson format, It's not horrible but it definitely breaks immersion sometimes.
Some villains fall flat and are unremarkable, again this isn't horrible for me because what I love the most is the main/ secondary cast but it would understandably be a deal breaker for some.

I love this show! Not only is it so fun and related watching with my nieces and nephews but it's inspiring them to create, ask questions, take chances and test their own hypothesis. I love everything about the vibrancy of the show! The music is great! The characters are well composed, I love the style of the characters and how they make changes to emphasize emotions. This show exhibits real life in a fun and multifaceted way. #BringbackMoonGirlandDevilDinosaur!
Each episode brings so much joy to our house. Often my neice will ask great questions and then come up with scenarios for us to act out or a great idea for how to repurpose and reuse something so it does not become waste. Beyond being a great show promoting S. T. E. A. M. It's helping my niece become more conscientious about the way that she interacts with the environment and how the things that we do and the things that we consume affect our ecosystem. Now she thinks in a more intentional manner about how she uses things and what she feels like she needs versus what she feels that she can create and repurpose to help create a better world for all of us. She's also become more empathetic. I believe by watching the show. I just love it and I really think that you all need to bring it back. I wish there was a show like this when I was growing up.

This is unambiguously one of the best glow ups for a character in existence. While Lunella in the comics isn't irredeemable, the show knew that making her have friends and family to back-and-fro with would provide excellent balance for her character. She stands out among Disney young girl protagonists in being genuinely intelligent, nerdy and possibly autistic as well as fundamentally warm and compassionate. Her neighbourhood is, as the song that begins and ends the show states, her family.
The show has excellent animation, Influences from Spiderverse can be seen, but it's also unafraid to go off model for jokes as well as glow ups for the more serious moments. There is no lack of fluidity, and the character designs are perfect in terms of expression and individuality.
Though silly, this work isn't afraid to tackle serious issues like racism, gentrification and transphobia. The team behind this show has genuine love in their heart, and their portrayal of city communities is welcome and heart warming.
A strong recommendation would be an understatement.

Marvel Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur it's good show to watch and it's so funny and I have to say they did awesome good job doing of the show and animation cartoons is my favorites and I find it interesting of the show and I enjoy it a lot and I find it most wonderful and inspiration. I think they should do comic books of the show that would be more interesting for people the around the world wants to get the comic books and continue the show on Disney channel and Disney plus. I am so excited for the show and I also find it more excitement for the kids and adults. I have to say is that this show is totally awesome, cool and funny.
