OK there is a story which is sad. I would say... set aside a police force (even two) any person would solve this case without any of those shenanigans. It could have been a good short movie but horreundous acting is the last straw.

This film is about the 1975 family murder in Teaneck NJ of a mother and her 3 children, dramatized.
Poorly dramatized. The acting is summarily sub par and the filming amateurish, and I was ready to totally pan the movie but it did save itself with a decent ending.
Thankfully, this was not another 'evil white man' piece, and while there are some racial elements to the movie I didn't feel it became the focus of the movie. I don't think I'd recommend it, but it wasn't a complete waste of time.

Worst acting and script I've ever seen. I don't know why people are giving it a high rating. Perhaps it was the first movie they've ever seen?
Turned it off after 29 minutes. I don't think I've seen worse 'acting' and dialogue in a film. Ever. Truly, truly awful.
The complete lack of genuine emotion from anyone after discovering the murders of three children was the finishing point for us.

Whilst the story is decent the acting is terrible. Especially the Police are played awful.

This thriller kept me guessing to the very end. The story was poignant and filled with engaging and plausible twists. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys thrillers, and particularly those based on historical events.

I thoroughly enjoyed American Wisper. I was totally engrossed in the events leading up to this family's tragic murder. Sadly, I also felt shame and hurt for black society when watching the all too real depiction of how my fellow human beings are treated. Kudos to Christian Barber who plays the victims husband & father for a tight passionate performance and the rest of the actors who did a great job. And the producer, Howard Nash who always manages to hit the mark of excellence in all of his productions.
If you're a fan of based-on-true-story films, this is a hard-edged riveting drama and every dad's worst nightmare. It happened in my own backyard so I'm familiar with the story.
Every minority/African American movie I've seen on Amazon has been a low budget disaster with amateurish actors with bad timing. Being African American I am appalled that a multi Billion dollar company would approve such rubbish. The budget for this 90min. flop at 3 locations was $500k, Prove It!!
If I could RATE this movie a ZERO I would. I have this movie the benefit of the doubt and it was just too low budget. This review doesn't have any spoilers it's just bad acting, and a bad movie!!

The only two people that could act somewhat isnthe main actor and the investigator in the interrogation room on the right.

The movie was so bad I turned it off after 30 minutes. I feel like there's some definite biased rating going on here.

I saw the rating and jumped into it. In the first 15 minutes I realised what pathetic movie it was with pathetically immature acting and poor sets. How it got such a high rating is a mystery. Watch a cartoon in its place to get the bad taste out of your mouth and head.

So slow, so bad,, so poorly written, directed and acted, but actually I laughed often. It was excruciating to watch the awkwardness and the cops are so cliche it's unintended comedy.
The big payoff the other high reviews are referring to, (presumably the families of the actors/writers or the cast themselves) is in the last 15 minutes.
My advice
Watch up to the crime scene and about one cop interrogation, then skip to the epiphany scene and play out. It'll still seem like an eternity, but you'll thank me.

Honestly, I was a little skeptical at first but as I continued to watch it, I was very interested because the intensity of wanting to know the unknown. Therefore,
afterwards, it made me want to look up the actual event. It was truly a thriller as well as a shocker, I agree. I love the emotion, rage and honesty of Norma when it came to her sister.

I enjoyed this film. It had an intriguing story line that had me guessing until the very end. Just when you thought you had the story figured out, the plot thickens. Recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys thrillers. Great movie to watch during the quarantine.
Sad because it happened.. Sad,but life isn't always fair. Reality is not always fun. It is a sad state of our society to try to "enjoy" what happened here. Sad.
