The story of the movie is not something unheard of. But it has been presented from the right perspective - the perspective from which it needs to be seen. Strongly based on a very recent real incident of an orphan being made a convenient scapegoat by the police on a murder case, Madhupal has made some smart commercial cinematic choices to push the movie's appeal. Tovino has been made a strong and well muscled man while still keeping all the innocence and diffidence of the real protagonist. As Tovino hits back on some of the injustices done to him, the viewer feels some delight where as the real life victim enjoys no such frills.

The other choice is to replace the real life male novice lawyer by a female lawyer played by Nimisha. Nimisha and Tovino have both played their roles really well. Police station scenes have been presented convincingly. Action scenes were done very well in a slightly cinematic style.

However, I do not feel that the movie was as good as Ozhimuri for instance(Madhupal's earlier film).

It is good that through the movie, the incident has come to the attention of the public. Hope the real protagonist gets some support from the public and the police's tendency to arrest the "perfect catch" gets a pushback.

I think the greatest contribution by the makers here is that the makers took the initiative and decision to bring this incident to the masses. The presented subject is a wrong trend that has been there for years. May be, Madhupal chose a more commercially appealing approach on this one to get better audience reach.

Tovino as an innocent man, and Nimisha as a timid inexperienced lawyer, was perfectly pictured. She took care to show her fear and anxiety in every scene and contained herself with nuances..Tovino's role as a quiet individual who is mocked by society and a person who is laughed at but a very likable honest guy ..and played it to "almost" perfection. The second half is courtroom drama, but it kept me curios. Good movie and nice to see Tovino in a very touching role. I recommend

A lonely woman was murdered in her house and police blame a poor guy who was grownup in orphanage...in court judge alloted a lady attorney for him..at first she refused to do then she agreed...nice court drama thriller and all r acted soo well... Must watchable movie...!!

Nimisha sajayan was super acting and tovino was extreme

Thread was good. Actors were poorly executed. Tovino have done a good job playing Ajayan. However, Nimisha Sajayan's character didn't look as a genuine act, so was Thondimuthal fame SI. Nedumudi Venu's role were not used fairly. Court scenes could have done better and not gripping as I was expecting it to be.

Below Average movie and one time watch is OK.

The movie is OK..Felt there are many loose ends in the script and could have been made better with more gripping and tight script. 'OKP' tried to pull out a Malayalam version of 'Jolly LLB' in its second half and to the truth, it somewhat achieved it decently (not in a fulfilling way though). Definitely not a must watch movie..but still a OK movie to spend time.

Oru Kuprasidha Payyan (An Infamous Chap) is an enchanting whodunit mystery + courtroom drama with less focus on who murdered a middle-aged singleton and more on the machinations of police procedure and judiciary, but as it rolls out, the contrived nature of the plot emerges and puts you off even though Madhupal directs his actors very well and they put up a believable show except for a few misses here and there. TN.

One of the finest performance delivered by Tovino Thomas in his career. Well crafted direction by Madhupal.

An ordinary film uplifted by some good performances . The film is good in some parts (second half) and equally bad in some parts (first half). Overall a one time watch.

Hats off madhupal and jeevan job. Excellent theme and screenplay well portrayed..it reflects how much time it can take for a decision to be made by the judicial system and also reveal manipulations and conspiracy by investigatng agents especially in kerala. We need more story telllers and not manmade superstars.

Good thrilling story which lead us to know the climax but director disappointed us in climax.After all it is a real story so this is not make any problem.It worths our money ,A one time watchable.

Nicely directed movie with good story. Always curious about the next scene. Acting of layer is outstanding. Special thanks for madhupal for this movie. Acting of Tovinois also good.

Saw the movie at the theater. Overall I don't think it was worth a theater experience, but still its a decent movie.

The starting part of the film lagged around a bit. Some parts seemed a bit unnecessary but I guess it was meant to establish Tovino's character. The second half of the film is much more exciting and thrilling. Nimisha does a wonderful job with her acting and Nedumudi Venu is good as well. In some aspects the movie reminded me of the Law and Order American TV series. It opened my eyes to various cases that happens in India.

I'd recommend it for the second half. However its not as good as Madhupal's previous films. I'd give it a 2.5/5.
