It's not it goes completely off kilter it's added bits and making mrs crachit an Afro Caribbean race I have no problem with but totally wrong with a white husband of Bob crachit (she also ends up being a witch taking revenge on Scrooge) they also added bits to Scrooge's life which was not in the book, although it is a good drama story telling is wrong

The plot shows she is of Afro Caribean. Perhaps she endowed with some mediumship powers of which she might be someof aware. There is an interesting point in the plot when Mrs Cratchit shouts back at Mr Scrooge warning him she is a woman and she have spirts take him by the throat.
