Sarcasm, my kind of humor

Stand up comedy is never easy. You have to have a natural talent for humor, sometimes improvising, and perfect facial expressions. Tom Segura has that. His shows are funny and Disgraceful is just what I wanted it to be. That some people think you can't laugh with some subjects is their opinion but I think, and I'm not the only one, that you can laugh with anything as long as you don't laugh with the handicap of a specific somebody. All the rest should be tolerated, as humor is the best cure for everything, even sarcasm, which in this stand-up comedy is overly represented. I had real good laughs, and even with the milder jokes I still had a smile on my face, so to me it's definitely worth watching.

Special Comedy

The special got special attention because Tom made fun of not being able to use a derogative term for special/disabled people. I'm not repeating the word that starts with a "R" just in case people reading this flag the review because of that, but you surely know what I mean. Now whatever your stance on the use of the word is, will kind of define if you are open to Toms comedy. Or even if you feel this is comedy.

The special in itself is funny (again eye of the beholder), but it's not classic material. I generally like Tom, have seen him on a couple of talk shows and I like that he dares to not hold back any punches. So if you are easily offended, and I know I'm stressing that point, but I just want to make sure that you are not going to watch it ... if you are for obvious reasons, if you are not, don't expect it to be disgraceful either (well at times obviously). Neat package and good jokes

another winning special for a very funny comedian

I don't get the whole "thing" about the word "retarded" in this special. politically correct puffed up anger is so tiresome. have a fucking sense of humor - it's a brief mention of why the use of the word is now different (along with gay and midget, btw), and nothing anywhere like the hate speech that's being portrayed as. calm down people. the hour is damn funny.

The art of storytelling at its finest.

The title says it all. Not my title. His title. Disgraceful. But amazing and hilarious. Tom is very talented and great on every special I've seen to where I've gone back and watched a few of them multiple times. They're just solid. Without a doubt one of my top three comedians to watch. And if anyone gets offended by anything, it's your own fault for not reading the title, it said what you're walking into.

Segura is on his top game again

I wasn't a huge fan of "Mostly Stories" and thought Segura might have lost his touch after three good specials in a row ("Completely Normal", "Thrilled" and "White Girls With Cornrows" are all great). Boy, was I wrong: With "Disgraceful" Segura comes back in full form and with more energy than ever. A lot of that energy might come from the weight loss win against that grease pile Burnt Kreysler. Segura continues to have a great track record and I'd heartily recommend the special to any comedy fan.

He's gotten even better, which is saying a lot.

First off: Don't listen to these dumb comments giving Tom a freakin one out of ten. Like, are you joking me? Because he made TASTEFUL jokes about Downsyndrome and wasn't even directly making fun of them.

Anyway, that out of the way, he's found a way to do less and say more. What I mean is: he's more subtle and somehow more funny. His timing is masterful. His expressions are genuinely funny and truthful. His set is fresh af. I loved it. And I'm very critical of stand ups. It does help that I've been a Tom fan for years.

PS- He lost the weight! Yes!

Good clean humor that is worth catching.

1/15/18. As funny as ever, Segura continues to entertain with good clean humor. I've seen his earlier stand-ups and he does not disappoint. This and his earlier stand-ups are worth catching.

This is a great introduction to Tom Segura

Tom Segura is one of my favorite comedians because of the understated way he delivers his jokes. It gives him a ceiling in the sense that he is never going to get on stage and blow anyone away, but while other comedians make me laugh, Tom can make me giggle with the delivery of some of his jokes. His topics are fun, relatable, down to earth, and they don't get old with re-watches. This is about as solid as it gets when it comes to a stand-up performance. I would be extremely happy leaving this event if I were in the crowd. Some of his jokes are even my type of humor, but his delivery is so elite that they get laughs out of me anyway.

Big fan of Tom and YMHPC

This was a disappointing stand up, there were some good bits, but I found myself forcing laughs rather than coming naturally like his first two specials did. If youre new to Tommy Buns watch "Completely normal" and "mostly stories" theyre amazing.

It's just not funny

If you enjoy humor that isn't witty, or clever I guess this is for you. This isn't funny, it's just bashing of other people. If he was humorous and his delivery was good, then maybe it would be funny, but he comes off crude and mean, and his delivery makes him sound like he's a terrible human being in real life too. Don't waste your time.

Self-hating white beta males are the worst at humor

I can't believe people think this guy's in any way on the level of Bill Burr.

Just a generic beta male who panders to women and racial minorities while trashing men and white people because magically he thinks that's okay because he's one. Made me smile once, never laughed.

Waste of time. Watch Bert Kreichner instead, I used to confuse those two but now I know Bert is the funny one.

Bill Burr & Louis CK deserve royalties

This was pretty funny at times, although he nicked too many jokes from Bill Burr and Louis CK.

Crude, Morally Corrupt

I am a fan of many comedians who are not politically correct, but when a joke was made about Down Syndrome on this show, they took it a step too far. There's no reason to single out a community of amazing people and offend them in this way. Feeling, living, human beings with Down Syndrome should not be belittled; Tom Segura and Netflix are making money at their expense, and that is sincerely morally corrupt. Comedians can be funny without belittling a whole community of people, their families, and loved ones. I suggest Netflix find better comedians to bankroll.

Juvenile and pathetic

Couldn't get past about 15 minutes. It was like listening to a 14 year old boy thinking they're funny but actually just being a pathetic bully.

Bored of middle aged white men moaning that they have to change their behaviour in their position of privilege. Grow up, and stop raging about people calling out bigotry!

How did this guy get a special?

This guy is a untalented dim-wit who doesn't have the talent to write creative jokes. Instead, he targets populations of people, and, instead of thinking of a witty punchline, just demeans them in an attempt to be "funny." Punching down is a clear sign of little talent, which apparently this guy has built a career on.

Horrible Verbal Abuse Aimed at People with Down Syndrome

People with Down Syndrome are not the stupid cardboard cutouts that Tom Segura abuses in this show. Maybe if Tom Segura and the producers of "Disgraceful" got to know a few people with DS, they would find that his "joke" is abusive and hurtful. People with DS are athletes, models, and actors. They run businesses, volunteer, and participate in their communities. Society is just beginning to realize the gifts of people with DS and with other developmental disabilities. The last thing we need is someone like Mr. Segura disparaging them. His statements about people with Down Syndrome are pure bigotry.

Not my cup of tea...

When I sat down to watch the 2018 stand-up comedy "Tom Segura: Disgraceful", I had never actually heard about Tom Segurra. But I happened to stumble upon the show as I perused the Netflix catalogue of comedy, and with it being a comedian I had never heard about, of course I opted to sit down and watch the show.

For me, I have to say that "Tom Segura: Disgraceful" was a swing and a miss. His particular sense of comedy and style of comedy wasn't really tickling me in the right places. I think I laughed two times along the course of the 71 minutes that the show ran for. So yeah, this was definitely not my cup of tea.

The material and contents of the jokes just didn't fall into the scope of my humor. And I have to say that he felt a bit pretentious and pompous.

Sure, I will say that Tom Segura feels like a natural on the stage, and he does have a fair enough grip on the audience, whom seemed to enjoy the show. I just happened to not find his comedy particularly funny. And thus I can't claim to be in a rush to sit down and watch his other shows.

My rating of "Tom Segura: Disgraceful" lands on a three out of ten stars.
