The writing in this show is excellent, the actors are one of the best ensembles for a long time.

The honesty and situations reflect a side of life rarely, if ever done in media of recent times, probably Douglas's finest work in a long time, really good viewing.

For someone who usually finds Chuck Lorre's work a little much, this was a genuine surprise. I suppose no laugh track, like Big Bang Theory, Two And Half Men, etc, certainly helps. Alan Arkin's delivery is hilarious and dry as ever. Good seeing some actors and actresses that I haven't seen in a while also.

While Michael Douglas is the acting teacher, it's Alan Arkin who delivers the master class in comedic timing. Delightful all round based on four episodes.

Finally a thoughtful well written comedy WITH NO LAUGH TRACK! Thank you thank you thank you!

Just started the second season, finished the second episode!I must say this is even better than the first, season!!Way way better!Great acting, great cast and the comedy is hysterical, really good!So far everything and everyone, I mean Kathleen Turner, Paul Reiser and Jane Seymour, I mean everyone is great!! They just fit the part!!!Truely well done! You won't be disappointed!!

It is so refreshing to watch something that appeals to audiences over 50. The subject matter is relevant, the acting is excellent and the only negative is that I've got to wait until next season to see new episodes... and I can't wait!

Douglas and Arkin share the best lines between them in this well written, and acted piece of comedy gold.

Tragic, very funny, and totally relevant to the society we live in toady. My only hope is that Netflix stick with the show and produce a second, very worthy season!

One of the best shows of 2018!

Wish it was 30 episodes... fun, great writing, adult stuff.

Well, Chuck Lorre has done it again. He managed to team two great actors who had never worked together and come up with a 2018 answer to Matthau and Lemmon. Laughter,Tears and a bit of Bawdiness made me eagerly sit through 4 hours, with hopes of another season to come.

"The Kominsky Method" is, in my humble opinion, by far, the best and most significant thing Michael Douglas has ever done or probably ever will do. For the sitcom genre, it is sublime. It has all the elements of comedy and tragedy and as they say punches way about it's weight.

Alan Arkin is also very good as are a whole host of recognizable big name celebrities. The plot, the storylines the characterizations, the character arcs, the direction ... all aspects of this series converge to create something substantial and way above the normal TV sitcom.

Notable are Lisa Edelstein who I first saw on The West Wing, then House, and now "The Good Doctor" playing Alan Arkin's wayward substance abusing daughter; Paul Reiser the health-challenged "boyfriend" of Michael Douglas's daughter Mindy played vivaciously by Sarah Baker. Reiser, who must be wearing a fat-suit is about the same age or older than Douglas himself which leads to many memorable moments. Jane Seymour who plays with absolute poise and dignity the love interest of Alan Arkin whose wife has recently passed away.

Teally everyone in the show does a tremendous job to bring the vision and writing to life.

I am not sure I ever would have thought to watch this series if it had not been done on NetFlix where I could watch it without a major investment, but I am very happily surprised that I did. Thanks NetFlix, and also to Chuck Lorre who climbed way above the adolescent, but funny, Two And A Half Men.

Unfortunately, the writer had to write around Alan Arkin quitting the series (from what I'd read, he'd only ever intended to do 2 seasons), and it didn't quite work. Other characters had to be featured, and they weren't particularly interesting. Clever to see Douglas and Turner back together, but Turner bears no resemblance to her 'Romancing the Stone' self, and can be painful to watch. The storyline with Arkin's character's daughter and grandson got tedious and ridiculous, and the whole season simply felt like it existed simply because Netflix had promised a 3rd season. Disliked the last show most of all. Recommend the first 2 seasons, but not the 3rd.

Beautiful, funny, sad, heartbreaking, hillarious at times. Outstanding acting, well paced and sharp writing.

And that was just the first episode and a few minutes of the second one.

A must watch.

Season 1 & 2 were brilliant, so funny and very cleverly written, but then Season 3 without Arkin was a real let down, and to suddenly have Seymour's character acting like a deranged crazy person in the first episode, after being so level headed in the previous season, was just weird. I lost interested after the first episode, and it didn't draw me back in.

Seasons one and two were fantastic with Alan Arkin and Michael Douglas, exchanging quick and clever comments. I was so looking forward to season three, and I had to force myself to watch all of it. I couldn't believe what happened to the show. Did they change writers? What happened.? You have to at least like the characters you're watching in a movie or a series and most of the characters in season three were totally unlikable. The scenes with the class were great, but the personal story just floundered around and just was impossible to believed Oh, so now the owner of the serious doesn't like my Review so it's not allowing me to submit it.

Chuck Lorre does it again. What a cast !! Cameos are a who's who list. The script writing is top notch. The acting is stellar, on point, engaging, believable. And funny !! Don't overlook this show, or dismiss it at first glance, you will be missing out on something special. Many shows take quite a few episodes for the cast to reach the closeness and flow of a really strong "ensemble", but this steps right in. Experience in all domains shows strongly - funny, witty, insightful, cutting at times, fresh, relatable, just wonderful. Watch it and spread the word.

A MASTERPIECE of wit! Chuck Lorre has outdone himself. Somewhat similar to Grace & Frankie(so if you love that show, you will be ALL OVER THIS), but ACTUALLY a step up. In their late 70's to early 80's, Douglas and Arkin rock. INCREDIBLE chemistry. I am mad, as I needed to get some work done today, but was sucked into binging!!!! Enjoy!

I LOVE this series! The actors are fantastic; Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin are THE best together! (The added benefit is Danny Devito.) When Michael and Alan were doing Kegels I almost lost it. This series is so real. Life is humorous, scary, sad, beautiful, touching, hysterical, and they depict it all so well. I can't say enough good things about this.

How you can describe the comedy as 'hysterical' is beyond me - it's not. It's wry and gentle and drips with pathos with the occasional belly-laugh. The pathos isn't only limited to the ageing juveniles, either -the youngsters in the acting class exhibit their fair share of sympathy- deserving angst. But as a parallel narrative for someone who is pushing the same.age as the two leads, it scores heavily. Not much around for our demographic, but there's this. Good work, Lorre, and good work Arkin and Douglas.

Douglas and Arkin are perfect in this comedy drama full of dark humour and heartbreaking sentiment. It won't be for everyone but what do they know. Do yourself a favour and watch this

This is such a disappointing final season it was a 10 first 2 seasons and doing third season without Alan Arkin and putting in very annoying characters! The episodes are already short they are 25 minutes each and whole season 6 episodes and full of repeating the same jokes & dialogs! What were you thinking.

Funny, witty, sad, and emotional.. Great teamwork between two actors that had never worked together.. Superb acting all the way around.. There better be a second season..

I would have given the series a 9 but once Alan Arkin left the season was forgettable and also annoying at times.

I'm beginning to dread new comedies coming out on Netflix that are rated "Mature". I don't agree with the rating. I think it should be rated IM for IMmature. What passes for mature humor these days? Teenage giggles about dicks & vags & bungholes. Even with respected actors like Michael Douglas & Alan Arkin who I always hoped were above this juvenile tripe. Instead we get a senior version of "Dumb & Dumber". Writers & producers seem to take the easiest route to humor. Nobody uses their brains anymore to write witty, thoughtful, insightful humor about life & the human condition. And by the consistent ratings I can see the US audience is just fine with that. Shame. I'll stick with the hits from the past, I guess.

Sticking fingers in an old man's butt or talking hours about prostate problems is not funny and are regular problems when it comes to age. Since this is normal and one should laugh about this, makes this pseudo intellectual comedy discriminate older people and nothing else. It is not entertaining at all. Michael is acting the way he does his entire life, the same way in every role he plays and this makes him a really bad actor. He is teaching young actors in this series. This is the only fun part but was not intended to be I guess. There is a scene where he shouts at someone peeing next to him with a working prostate. This might be ok and normal for those giving this crap a 10 but calling this a Masterpiece makes me just beeing concerned about our society. This is a typical cliché Hollywood crap Production we have seen a thousend times just with a different theme, old man..o sorry..we had this before too. People, is this really all you want to see on screen? Oh my..
