Stargate Origins

For the love of god, they ended that show with a massive cliffhanger. Why did they even make this one when you already had a great show (universe) ready for revival??!! what the actual...?!

From what I understand, this series was made to show that people are still interested in a SG universe and to have a studio take notice and release a new show.

What they have done is pretty much put a nail in the coffin of said universe. They have blatantly done things to anger the fans who were actually waiting eagerly for a continuation of the universe, therefore greatly reducing the chances that a studio will take a chance on spending money to get a real show developed.

I could live with many things until the show and "actors" would find its feet, bad acting, bad dialogue, etc., but going against cannon makes me question if the people who put this together were ever really fans in the first place.

I will stick to rewatching the old series' and hope that some studio will achieve the potential of the SG universe, because this amateurly put together show certainly has not.

I was really excited to see a new stargate series, however, unless you just HAVE to see everything stargate, I would skip this one.

Bad acting, poor special effects, several scenes are just unbelievable, the men are all evil or incompetent cowards (I enjoy strong women, but there is no reason to make all of the men so unlikable to have that), several small pointless inconsistencies with the original series. Feels like a very amateur attempt. They could have done SO much better.

So of course I'm a huge fan of the series because SG1 was freaking awesome. I saw the first 30 min intro tonight. Feels like armature and weird directing style. Just feels unnatural and fake (lol all TV is fake) but you know what I mean.

Hopefully it will get better but so far I'm bummed because Stargate is an awesome franchise and I hate to see it get buried for a few more years.

You'll know what I mean when you watch it... like it's as if a Youtuber made a fan film or something. Sorry to be harsh and it's not like I could do any better.

You know what I'm going to re watch all 10 Seasons of SG1 and wait for the next round.

Despite the bad reviews I still gave it a shot because I love Stargate and Connor Trinneer ( ST Enterprise ) It sure is low budget but that isn't really the issue here. The trouble is that the script is so bad it gets painful to watch. You can see they wanted to make this movie in line with the rest of the franchise but the "humor" is so bad it resembles amateur theater and the story is so full with stuff done far better in other movies. I really can't believe they got permission to put the Stargate name on this. Nothing new, nothing added to the story and this certainly will not be the start of a reboot. I think many fans will be disgusted by this and I highly doubt this flick will introduce a new generation to the franchise.
