Simple

The show was entertaining and wasn't Hollywood fake. I like how realistic it was. Great for binge watching. Hope for a season 2.

So raw and relatable

Everyone delivers something special. It's great to the dynamic everyone shares. I look forward to seeing the characters grow if given a season 2.

Pleasantly Surprised

I found this by accident. It's amazing. It made me feel like I was watching footage of my life- except about men...who are actors.

More depth than I expected

The leads are terrific. Colletti is sweet and driven and Lafferty finds subtle humour in his 'retired' actor. You feel for these guys, even when they are the cause of their own misery. What really sells the show and keeps it from being a two-hander, are the female roles they've written. The women here are smart and flawed. Alexandra Park in particular knocks it out of the park playing a actor who has continued to be successful, married to a man who seems to have given up. Her scenes with Lafferty (himself a revelation - who knew UGGS could look sexy?!) are heartbreaking. I blasted the season over three nights and wanted more. The love and experience that's gone into this make it tangible. I truly hope we get another season.

EDG

I was following this campaign from the start and was very much looking forward to it coming out! I was a bit disappointed as I had expected it to be much better. There is some great comedy and some great scenes but I felt it dragged a bit and I found myself getting a bit bored. I'm a huge fan of Stephen & James and also Alex for that matter. I think they did well for writing and directing their own show. Hopefully if it gets picked up for season 2 they will take some of this feedback on. Best of luck guys and Alex :)

Hilariously Relatable.

As someone who is about to be 30...this show is so relatable. The dry humor is my favorite. James Lafferty & Stephen Colletti are a fantastic duo in this show! I can't wait for Season Two!

Don't waste your time

Been a fan of James and Stephen for year's so I was excited to see their new project they created. Sorry to say big disappointment and way to much hype. I think they used a lot of family and old co workers to try and hype it up. I really tried to get into it but after episode 5, I turned it off. If people think this show was hilarious I would say Stephen and the pillow were the best parts. Show was way to slow, it jumped all over the place, basically it's washed up actors in Hollywood who are drug and alcohol addicts, who got no jobs, so normal Hollywood. The lead actresses were also disappointing, I mean I know they hired them due to budget and that some of them are dating but geez they were a bore. If they get a season two all I got to say is good luck and get better writers and story lines. Oh and the vampire theme lame.

A funny show that gives an honest look at the struggling artist's life

First, I am a huge One Tree Hill fan and was so excited when Hulu picked this up. I can't imagine the amount of work that went into this and I am so proud of James and Stephen for pulling it off! If you watched OTH and also like indie tv/film, then you'll probably enjoy Everyone is Doing Great.

Now to review the show... it's a solid comedy but definitely rough around the edges! Overall, I really connected to the characters and to their story. I am a musician and the past year of pandemic closures was really tough. There are days when you feel like giving up and you wonder if you've lost your passion, and then there are little things along the way that help you remember why you love what you do. I definitely related to the struggle of these two unemployed actors, and watching them regain the "spark" for their art was very inspiring. I also like the overall message that if you really want something, you need to go after it yourself. It's scary putting yourself out there, but always worth it in the end!

Main critiques: Some scenes were a little slow and dragged on a bit too long, but maybe that was the point in order to show how mundane their lives have become. I also wasn't a fan of all the drug use. It felt gratuitous and unnecessary at times. When it was integrated with the story I think it worked and added a comedic effect. But to have multiple scenes of pot or cocaine in every episode was overkill, in my opinion!

All that said, I do sincerely hope this gets a second season. I think James and Stephen have the ideas to get it written, and now they also have some solid directing experience to help make the next season even better. I also need to find out what happens next! If you've seen the finale, you're probably dying to find out too!!!

An honest portrayal of life after fame

A very honest portrayal of what actors go through after finding success and then going through a slump. I thought it was an interesting premise. And the fact that they were on a vampire teen drama is pretty funny. I also loved the quirky music and acting. The humor is more dry and awkward, not so much in your face. I especially liked the North Carolina episode. I think that might have been filmed near the river court from one tree hill.

It's a solid 7

I liked Cariba Heine from H2O just add water and love her in this role. The other characters are great too. The episodes are only 30 minutes long so it's a quick fun watch. There are some boring points although which usually every show has but they should bring in some new writers for new plot points.

Overrated

Didn't like the show at all. The show is about one hit wonders so basically all of them in real life struggling in the competitive industry that is Hollywood. Thought the acting from the main 4 characters were bland nobody stood out to me it explains why I don't see them often in other big shows and films and the storyline in itself was just to simple and generic like it was trying to copy tv shows like party down or curb your enthusiasm and those shows are highly entertaining. I was surprised to find this on Hulu compared to the bigger shows I had watched in the streaming service looking at how low budget and cheap everything was on this show. Anyway i was a bit puzzled when I saw 10 star ratings for this show who thought this was funny and smart when i felt it was the total opposite of that. Totally overrated.

Testosterone Times Two

There are few shows on TV that have been willing to explore the raging masculinity of its two lead actors more than this one. The show veers back and forth between the men having sex, almost having sex, taking drugs, not taking drugs but wishing they were talking drugs, talking about having sex, and talking about taking drugs. And yes, there are women in the show, but they're portrayed exactly like the men: creatures of the raging id. In fact, the women might be the worst written female characters of all time (if you can understand their dialogue, as for some reason they both speak in occasionally indecipherable lower middle-class Australian accents).

What does work about this show is the raw, blunt honesty. Neither of these two leads, who also write the show, are in the least bit interested in making themselves seem like decent fellows. Or decent actors (which, actually, they both clearly are). You see them screw up, mess up, vomit, and even see them on the toilet -- this might be the first show to feature a scene with a guy wiping his butt on the john). There's something so frank about what this show is doing that despite its many flaws (lack of plot, lack of cohesiveness, and the weird fact that these two guys were the huge stars of a long running show but both are somehow broke, have no roles, and one of them lives in a hovel while the other only has a nice place because his wife pays the mortgage) the show is weirdly not just watchable but even slightly addicting.

If there had only been some editing and perhaps some others involved who could have helped give the show a more even path, this might have been excellent.

Begging for ratings for a poorly made series says it all

Is there a minus zero rating. Show is so bad, I think I may need a line of coke (jk), but for reals awful. They must know the reviews are bad for the show because the stars of the show are begging fans to to go online and write good comments about it. And they have been more active on social media more than ever. Desperate times.

Support this pilot, this series is going to be hilarious

I got the opportunity to watch this pilot episode at the Denver Series fest. They won an award for best comedy writer for this pilot. It is hilarious. James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti already have 5 other episodes that are written and they just need a streaming service to pick it up. If you get a chance watch this pilot and support their indiegogo campaign to get this series on the air! You won't regret it.

Hilarious comedy

This is the perfect comedy where you can watch so many embarrassing moments and laugh so much. Even while watching them go through awkward situations you still can't help but love the characters! The acting was phenomenal. The chemistry between Jeremy, Seth, Andrea and Isabella was so believable. It makes me look forward to learning more about their story! Overall I definitely rate this a 10/10. Great quality. Go watch it. Prepare to laugh, and laugh more and more with each episode!

Amazingly Disappointed

I followed James and Stephen from the beginning of the crowdfunding, even donated. I have noticed one person in particular is getting way to much praise for writing and creating, which we know didn't, but got a free pass to star in it. Then on top of it all it seems that after the show finally got picked up they forgot a lot of the people who advertised and supported them. They use that phrase fame comes and goes but friends are forever?

Now for a raw and real review of the show. Folks need to stop saying how good and amazing it is cause your lying. If you want real review that won't sugarcoat things here it is. BORING, MAJOR DISAPPOINTING, LACK OF IMAGINATION, ACTING Seemed forced, nothing seemed genuine . I have seen many shows like this before actually had a story and that was actually funny. If you actually into tv/movies you can see they have taken parts from other films and used it on EDG. Only thing I felt that was real was you always got one friend who screws up in life who always leans on the other trying to make a life. I also see a lot of people asking them are we ever having any oth cast mates starring in the show. tbh I hope they don't, especially after the interview I read from James and Stephen stating they wanted to move on from OTH and forget about the last. Weird they didn't forget about the past when it was time to promote edg.

WTF

I don't usually read reviews especially the ones written by pros, they are only someone's opinion and I don't write reviews. For the most part reviews by ordinary people are much more honest, usually. I do know what I enjoy, what can hold my attention and what is funny and makes me laugh. I have a great sense of humor and I do laugh out loud when watching a funny show. When reading the reviews here (10/10's) I have to question what show were they watching or rather did they even watch this show. When you don't know the correct number of episodes in a show you have just watched how honest could the review be? Unfortunately, it may be that the 10/10's were friends or loyal obsessed fans believing they are helping whomever they idolize but whatever the case - be honest at least. It's called "constructive criticism" and is welcomed by most creative people. Did not watch OTH but have seen The Royals and while Alex performed well she was not my favorite, I found her counterpart much more interesting so I do not bring any defined expectations for this show. I did watch all 8 episodes hoping it would get better and funny but that did not happen. I watched it a second time thinking I must have missed something - but nothing, sorry. A story about actors with failed relationships, addictions to drugs and alcohol who are immature, insecure and narcissistic, not a novel concept but could have been a good comedy. What happened? Regrettably, humor was lacking and it was just sad. I can not understand how people truthfully write they laughed through the whole series without their fingers falling off, unless of course watching paint dry or people in pain causes them laughter or they are just clueless when it comes to humor, dry or not or what is funny and what is just sad. Sorry but this show missed the mark, needs a lot of work and a second season will not and can not fix it.

Loved it!

It's a great down to earth show that feels relatable. When you want to do better but just can't seem to get it together. You're really rooting for Jeremy and Seth to pull through when everything keeps going comically wrong. I need another season!

Very funny. Love how dry it is.

This isn't in-your-face comedy. It's very subtle and dry. I feel like I can easily relate to the characters. The acting is wonderful. The writing is thought out and honest.

I had no idea this was coming and I'm very thankful my wife brought it to my attention.

I'm excited to tell my friends about this show and I look forward to future seasons!

This is freaking funny

Lafferty is either a genius or a practiced stoner. He is so entertaining in this part. Great writing and directing btw, Mr Lafferty! Coletti is sweet and funny and oh so earnest in his part. The pillow rehearsal science is funny and yet cringe worthy simultaneously. Thanks for the entertainment, guys.
