Sugar Pine 7's Alternate Lifestyle series is a fresh and clever comedy/drama/vlog thing. In all honesty, it is near impossible to pit into one single genre. The show revolves around the misadventures of Steve Suptic (himself) and his friends. Steven narrates and acts as the group's "serious" one. His best friend, Cib (Clayton James Clyne-Brisson) is a vape addicted, mentally challenged, headband wearing Canadian. They are joined by James (DeAngelis), Parker, Autumn, Sami Jo, Alfredo and various others. Each episode is witty, funny and well paced. The jokes always hit. The story is surprisingly good. I honestly can't give this show enough praise. 10/10

I'm not sure the episode count is truly correct here on IMDb but thought it was about time a review was up before the Season 1 Finale. This show is a blast. The concept is unique as it is an "Alternative Lifestyle experience" or basically a comedy series shot as a vlog. I was hooked very early on after finding one of the episodes on Youtube's Trending page. I assume it's probably not the first comedy vlog but it's probably the longest running series like this and the quality has only gotten better since the beginning. The acting is quite good especially considering that the script is bare bones so the content is mostly improvised. The jokes almost always land and Steven Suptic's narration is top notch so the result is one of the funniest shows I have seen in years definitely some of the best content on Youtube right now. Towards the end of season 1, some of the characters have been able to show off their range with some truly dramatic moments that showed me how invested I am in these characters.

I discovered Steven back when he was MLGHwnt... Myself not being a huge fan of MC pushed the channel over to the side. I later stumbled acrossed Steve and Tyler and binged the series... The clear hatred you had towards the show made it somewhat enjoyable yet saddening... I then found your Sourcefed re branding in my Sub box and watched a few of the videos... finally I stumbled across Alternative Lifestyle the saving grace of youtube... a show that truly deserves to be fingered in the asshole by god himself... This show though mainly being a comedy made you attached to the characters which really made the season final more emotional... This show is fantastic and I hope you keep it.
The creators of Sugar Pine 7 - the figures who forefront every episode - have an unrivaled technicality and meticulous consideration of story and character arcs in which they present. The web-series, which can be found on YouTube, is vastly performed in a sharp-witted, improvisational style (or to get pretentious, commedia dell'arte). This approach allows for an array of natural screen presences, despite the actors behind the show not having comedic or dramatic backgrounds (or so I assume).
Steven Suptic, whose materialistic, disgustingly self-absorbed persona is challenged by the thoughtfully immature characters who surround him. This allows for a brilliant on-screen dynamic that is unprecedented on the platform (however reminiscent of David Dobrik's wealth subplot). As Cib, James, and Parker emotionally grow and flourish into their own intricacies, there's an apparent affinity that Steven develops towards these people (palpable in his narration), allowing for genuine and heartwarming moments within a show that is comedic to its core. The moments of authenticity are nothing short of a reflection of the group's dynamics external to the plot, made evident in the podcasts they record or other public engagements (RTX). The presentation of each episode, constructed and paced by Suptic and Autumn Farrell, is done in such a consuming fashion that the next episode on Autoplay is irresistible, and is most certainly of-note.
Sugar Pine 7 is a community; an inviting one that - despite hardships - instils an audience desire to be among the group. The creators and actors genuinely care for their collective creative output, and this solicitude is mirrored in their efforts. A very good show.

An amazing idea and a concept so suitable for Youtube, it's changing the game. Throughout the entirety of Season 1 the characters have gone from being just hilarious and relatable to also being well acted and more fleshed out than any other Youtube series.
In the Season 1 Finale, the cinematic tone is nothing but perfectly fitting for the story it is telling, and the skills behind the production really shows in what I see as the frontier of Youtube Comedy and Drama.

- QuizA large portion of the regulars on the series are ex-Minecraft YouTubers, with Parker, Steven, and Cib in particular all managing to surpass the 100k subscriber milestone by uploading primarily Minecraft content. Other series regulars with connections to the Minecraft community include Andrew, who has surpassed the 15k subscriber milestone through Minecraft content, and Jeremy, who was the editor for Parker and Andrew's Minecraft content. James is the only Sugar Pine 7 member with no previous ties to the Minecraft YouTube sphere.
