The film is dedicated to the memory of crew member Craig Priestley who passed away after production.
The titular hotel is a mix of on location shooting and two working hotels and purpose based sets.
The second screenwriting collaboration between Alan Mockler, Greg Saxton and Chris Worthington after The Wedding (2013).
Director Ed Greenberg describes The Renata Road (2022) as "if Strade perdute (1997), Lost in Translation - L'amore tradotto (2003) and L'angelo sterminatore (1962) were to procreate, this film would be their bastard offspring".
