Kolonya Cumhuriyeti

I suggest watching this movie to everyone. It is a brave comedy; however, the ending could be better like Iron Sky.

First a warning...like many comedies, some jokes are lost in translation if you are relying on subtitles. However, in its native language the movie is very funny. Even if you are not a fan of absurd comedies, it has many memorable moments.

I haven't heard of this movie until it popped up my recommondations under a popular streaming service. I have seen it three times since then. I started the movie with very low expectations and the first 20 minutes was cute but nothing special. Then I was laughing out loud for a good hour. The last 15-20 minutes of the movie changes gears away from the comedy to tie the story. The characters are likeable and not overacted. The political satire is humorous but not preachy. I am hoping for a sequel .

The film's premise is quite outlandish: an alien accidentally lands in a small Turkish district called Kolonya. During the welcoming festivities, the alien's spaceship is destroyed, leaving it stranded. This unexpected event leads to the district mistakenly declaring itself an independent country, "Kolonya Cumhuriyeti." The newfound nation then finds itself in a bizarre conflict with the United States while trying to navigate the challenges of being a sovereign state with a very limited population and resources, often with the help of the alien.

It is hard to belive that the rating of this film is so low. I don't understand people who scored this movie under 7. I am sure that this movie reminds them the reality that we are all in and it is hard to accept by many people. The performance of the actors and actresses is wonderful and the jokes are hilarious and genius. I really enjoyed every scene of this brilliant movie.

Some of the characters were hilarious, and the story and events were funny. I recommend it for a fun time. Towards the end of the movie I got a little bored. Still can be watched.
