Me Familia

Don't understand why some many people hating on this instant cult classic. It's for sure not a Hollywood movie, but it is a A grade B movie for sure. The actors in this film were classic, the cop around 1hour 11min in was the best comedy I have seen in a while. People just need to relax and enjoy this movie don't take it so seriously and u actually might get some laughs. N. Styles.

Poor script and story with woeful acting. Terrible direction, special effects (not so special!) and shockingly poor cinematography. The sound is also inferior (some scenes the audio is really low, impacted by the wind or you can hear the mic knocking on something). The editing is a joke.

Seems like a total indulgence from Joe Ciminera (writer, director and lead role!).

Tiffany Browne-Tavarez is a diabolical actress (well in this production at least).

This movie will result in 2 hours of your life wasted and that you'll never get back.

My advice, spend some quality time with your family rather than with Me Familia!

Me Familia is supposed to be modern, updated version of Shakespeare's The Twelfth Night. I enjoyed the film from start to finish, and I have seen enough indie films to expect certain traits (undependable camera work, strange editing, maybe some sound or camera problems, weak writing and poor casting, a drunk best boy, a missing grip, perhaps even the production's caterer wasn't up to the job) but I cannot see how this story is supposed to be an updated version of any of Shakespeare's stories. The Twelfth Night is supposed to be one of Shakespeare's greatest comedies! Huh!!?? But that being said, I enjoyed the film and tomorrow I will watch Me Familiar 2! Long live Will Shakespeare!

I haven't watched many mob movies--so this was a fascinating movie to watch. Love all the details that went into it.

ME FAMILIA took me right back to all the mob films from the seventies that I know and love, not to mention, a certain cable series that shall not be named(damn that ending!) Sure there are no name actors or recognizable faces here, but these actors are really good, holding the tension high and even delivering some humor with some very witty banter. It made it feel much more authentic for me, literally absorbing me into the world like that other cable show set in Baltimore that did that so effectively. Also, the HIT SEQUENCES were really well done and a lot of fun. If you're into mob films with good dense stories, well-portrayed characters and lots of indie-heart, ME FAMILIA is the film for you.
