This is one of the stupidest movies I have ever seen in my entire laugh. Unfortunately it was not particularly funny or a good kind of stupid, just the kind where when it is done I just wondered why I allowed 90 minutes of my life to be wasted on something that gave me no entertainment at all. It even looks super cheap.

I am always on the lookout for horror films that are strange, bizarre or so bad they're laughable (you know the kinds that even Ed Wood would have thought were bad) and this movie was ummm.....interesting. Actually it looks like someone had an old VHS movie camera, $100 in their pocket and a handful of McDonald's coupons (you know.....catering) and decided to make a movie and then got a 10 year old with ADD to do the special effects on a Windows 95 computer. So if you like terrible movies and laughable CGI this is definitely the movie for you.

Granted, as I sat down in 2021 to watch the 2017 movie "Jack vs Lanterns" from writer and director Jason Liquori, then I wasn't really expecting a whole lot given the movie's cover and its synopsis. But still, I opted to watch the movie, as there might be a chance that the movie was so bad that it would actually be fun to watch.

But no, "Jack vs Lanterns" was just bad. In fact, it was so bad that it went in the opposite direction of being funny. So yeah, don't get your hopes up for much of anything here.

The special effects were special alright. And that is not in a good way. No. You have to look far and wide for movies with special effects of this magnitude of lousy and low-key. It was just ridiculously bad to witness on the screen.

The acting in this 2017 movie does match the rest of the movie, for better or worse.

You might want to do yourself a favor and skip on "Jack vs Lantern". Some of us suffered through this so you don't have to.

I am rating "Jack vs Lantern" a generous one out of ten stars, as this movie definitely ranks high on the list of worst movies I have stumbled upon.

The special effects looked like they were done by a 5th grader. Cheesy flights. The whole thing was just terrible. And they had the nerve to leave it for a part two. Can't wait....... NOT.
