Damien Leone, writer-director of the cult horror series Terrifier, has confirmed that the fourth installment will unveil Art the Clown’s origin story within the opening fifteen minutes of the film. Leone recently told 3C Films’ Cris Parker that the backstory reveal is designed to be “epic” and “not going to disappoint,” signaling a shift towards deeper narrative exploration.
The screenplay for Terrifier 4 is currently in development, with Leone indicating that this chapter will bring closure to Art’s arc and set the stage for the series’ conclusion. While a formal release date remains unannounced, fans anticipate a late 2026 debut based on previous two-year intervals between sequels.
Since its debut in 2016, the Terrifier franchise has thrived on the anonymity and terror of Art the Clown, portrayed most recently by David Howard Thornton. Earlier entries focused almost exclusively on graphic kills and tension, leaving viewers to construct their own theories about the killer’s origins.

Now, Jocelyn Hudon is saving lives on Chicago Fire as paramedic Lizzy Novak and preparing to go into her third season on the NBC drama this fall. But back in 2020, she was on the other side, part of a group threatening the lives of the dispatchers at the call center — including Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) — on 9-1-1. When TV Insider caught up with Hudon about the end of Chicago Fire Season 13, we had to ask what she remembered about that 9-1-1 guest spot. “I remember everything from that episode!” she immediately said. “Angela Bassett arrested me at the train station. It was awesome. I was in Bora Bora at the time when I got the audition and I was like, ‘Oh, okay, yeah, fine.’ The last thing you want to do when you’re on vacation is your hair. And I was like, ‘Screw it. Okay, I’m...

It’s been more than 15 years since Judy Reyes played nurse Carla on the former comedy Scrubs, and she’s more than ready to put the titular uniform back on. As fans of the series, which originally debuted on NBC in 2001 and concluded on ABC in 2009, will recall, in late 2024 rumors of a Scrubs revival began to circulate with original creator Bill Lawrence attached. It has since been reported that Zach Braff, who led the show as Doctor John Dorian, a.k.a. Jd, has signed on to reprise his role in the show, which is still considered “in the works” as an ABC greenlight hasn’t been given quite yet. Prior to Braff’s casting news, TV Insider caught up with Reyes on the red carpet at Disney Upfronts in New York City on May 13, where she was promoting the network’s current hit, High Potential. The new season, which premieres on Wednesday (May 21) night, features Derry joining ranks with Gordon Ramsay and Joe Bastianach. She previously competed on Top Chef Season 7 (winning “fan favorite”) and Top Chef All-Stars, along with CutThroat Kitchen (which she won). Grey’s Anatomy is the longest-running primetime medical drama in U.S. television history, and with Season 22 on the way this fall, the series shows no signs of stopping yet. At Wednesday’s (May 13) Disney Upfronts presentation, James Pickens Jr., one of the show’s few remaining originals, hit the red carpet to celebrate the continued success and renewal of Grey’s Anatomy, so TV Insider caught up with him to discuss the groundbreaking ABC favorite. Pickens reflected on the show’s recent 20-year anniversary of the pilot’s debut, revealing exactly why he had good reason to believe the show was going to be a major success. “Before the pilot aired, we at the time had another exec producer, Jim Parriott, who was a wonderful guy, and they had had a dinner for us, and he said… ‘Jim, you watch.’ He said, ‘I just got a feeling. After all the hype NBC built around a Suits spinoff, the network decided to cancel Suits: LA after its first season. As the network announced its fall schedule, it was clear that execs had to make some major sacrifices to make room for the NBA season. While shows like Found, The Irrational, Lopez vs. Lopez, and Night Court also received the axe, I was not expecting Suits: LA‘s scrapping.
Honestly, the show failed to take advantage of the popularity of its prequel show, starring Gabriel Macht. While I expected something similar in tone to Suits, the LA version failed to make a case for itself. NBC president of program planning strategy came on record to explain why the spinoff wasn’t getting a second season.

As Criminal Minds: Evolution returns for Season 3 later in the week on May 8, the Bau continues to deal with some of the most depraved offenders ever known to man. Most of the team members have witnessed a lot of unsubs, but Tyler Green (Rj Hatanaka) is relatively new, and he's learning as he goes. "People think this job is about staring down evil, but it’s not. . . . . It's about loss," Prentiss (Paget Brewster) tells Tyler in the season's trailer. Brewster said this line "is some of the best dialogue I’ve ever had the honor of saying onscreen. It is so well written," when previewing the season to TV Insider, and how Tyler settles in with the team. "I never remember lines [after filming]," she said, but the scene, written by Jayne Archer, stuck out because it sums up what the Bau does in a really complex manner. She explained:

CBS’ long-running “60 Minutes” has been nominated for 13 News & Documentary Emmy Awards, which the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced on Thursday.
Of those 13 nods, one was for “The Democratic Ticket,” the episode that aired on Oct. 7, 2024, in which Bill Whitaker interviewed Vice President Kamala Harris and that Donald Trump claimed was “a giant Fake News Scam,” accusing CBS of deceitfully editing her answer about Gaza and filing a $20 billion lawsuit stating as much (CBS has maintained Trump’s claims are false).
In a perfect twist of irony, the episode is nominated for Outstanding Edited Interview.
Other nominees for the 46th annual News and Documentary Emmys, which “honor programming content from more than 2200 submissions” that premiered in 2024, include CNN’s “The Whole Story With Anderson Cooper” and “Anderson Cooper 360,” National Geographic’s “Trafficked: Underworlds with Mariana van Zeller,” PBS’s “News Hour” and “Frontline,” while various programs produced by...

Tony Revolori has played Flash Thompson in the MCU Spider-Man movies ever since Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, despite his character having a long history in the comics, he hasn't really had a whole lot to do.
Revolori's Flash is a more modern take on the character. He bullies Tom Holland's Peter Parker emotionally rather than physically, and doesn't become friends with him later the way the Flash of the comics does. However, Revolori is hoping his Flash might get to borrow one thing from his comic book counterpart and become Agent Venom sometime in the future.
Revolori had a conversation with The Direct recently, and the Agent Venom plot was brought up. The Direct asked Revolori if he would be interested in the McU's Flash heading in that direction, and the actor answered, "I've read the comics that everyone's read. I would be really, really f***ing excited to do something like that.

Longevity is a question that follows any new show as viewers gauge the premise and how long it can hold their attention. That question becomes even more important for streaming shows whose three-to-four-season ceiling is quickly hit. Wyle, who plays Dr. Robby, delivered some great news when he said he'd be on the show “as long as you’ll have me.” Gemmill echoed similar sentiments, saying he'll be on the show "until they turn the lights out." "I have a reputation of, once I get settled, I don’t go anywhere," he said. As a medical procedural, the show cannot exhaust the number of stories it can tell. "The great thing about doing a...

Jackson Hughes got his first Lego set, the Adventurer’s Scorpion Tracker, as a gift from his best friend when he was a child. But no good deed goes unpunished, especially in the reckless days of childhood, and a few years later, when he was roughhousing at the best friend’s home, the Lego version of a starship flown by Star Wars character Jango Fett came crashing off the top of a bookshelf. It was reduced to a pile of bricks, and the friend was devastated.

Matt Bomer has starred in many projects over the years, and one of his career-defining roles was the one of the charming and charismatic Neal Caffrey in The White Collar. He went to star in many other critically acclaimed projects, including 2023's Maestro, the limited series Fellow Travelers, and now the Hulu comedy Mid-Century Modern.
However, back in the 2000s, he almost became Clark Kent in an unmade Superman: Flyby project written by J.J. Abrams. The actor had previously addressed losing the role, alluding that it had something to do with his sexuality, as he was outed in the early 2000s. However, Bomer just went online to clarify that he is proud of his career and slammed his portrayal as a victim for not becoming Superman, per Deadline.
Bomer had mentioned that he auditioned for months for the role, which would've included a three-movie project. The actor alluded that his sexuality was "weaponized" against him.

Cate Blanchett, who starred as Galadriel in the franchise, went viral last August for saying on “Watch What Happens Live” that “no one got paid anything to do that movie.” She joked: “I basically got free sandwiches and I got to keep my [elf] ears” as pay.
Speaking to Business Insider at the 2025 Texas Film Awards, Wood confirmed his “Rings” salary was not a big one, despite leading the trilogy as Frodo. However, the actor doesn’t mind at all.

We last saw The Handmaid’s Tale‘s June (Elisabeth Moss) on a train with baby Nichole, hoping to get as far away from Gilead as she possibly could. When the Hulu series returns on April 8 for its sixth and final season, viewers can expect June’s journey to take a detour. “Episode 1 brings June and Serena [Yvonne Strahovski] back together,” Eric Tuchman, co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer, previewed to TV Insider on the red carpet at PaleyFest 2025 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. “They’re really the heart of the show. It’s a kind of twisted love story. They can’t quit each other. They’re on their way away from Gilead in this [first] episode, thinking that they’re leaving it behind – but you can’t leave your past unresolved. It’s always going to catch up with you.” Devotees of The Handmaid’s Tale will be treated to three...

The Equalizer has developed a loyal fanbase over the last five seasons. The show, while not as huge as, say NCIS or Blue Bloods, has been consistent, and Queen Latifah's titular performance has drawn widespread praise. Unfortunately, like so many other CBS titles, The Equalizer is on the bubble when it comes to cancelation.
There's been widespread debate as to why certain CBS shows have gotten the boot, while others have earned a renewal. The reasons have varied, but TV Insider's Matt Roush provided some specific insight regarding the current state of The Equalizer during a recent blog post. He notes that the show originates from an outside studio, which can oftentimes complicate negotiations when it comes time to contract extensions.

If one were to carve a Mt. Rushmore of cool movies (preferably in the Hollywood Hills and not on sacred land), Michael Mann's 1995 crime thriller Heat would get the chisels moving. The cult-favorite heist two-hander didn't garner many accolades after its release but has since seen a resurgence in popularity over the last 15 years, influencing the cinematic DNA of the crime genre forever. In the 30 years since it hit theaters, fans have been eager for a sequel, which Mann has intimated was in the works for some time. Late last year, Mann said he was close to finishing a screenplay for Heat 2, and in a big update, he has now announced that he a draft has been turned into to Warner Bros. Pictures.

Maybe Jason (Scott Caan) can change Chief Inspector Bill Houston’s mind about him on Alert: Missing Persons Unit. Malcolm-Jamal Warner debuts as the new boss in the Tuesday, April 1, episode of the Fox drama, and TV Insider has an exclusive first look at the two crossing paths. Houston steps off the elevator as Jason is walking behind him, on the phone with Wayne (Alisha-Marie Ahamed). “These are my Vegas rules,” he’s telling her. “No slots, no strippers, and no shellfish.” He then tells her he’ll call her later and hurries to catch up to Houston, asking if he got lost on the way to the golf course. “My five iron’s in the shop, so I thought I’d do some police work instead,” Houston says. “Lucky us,” Jason remarks. Houston then surprises Jason by telling him, “We’re going to start over, alright? I know you don’t like me.

Michael Mann is now waiting to hear back from the studio after working on Heat 2 for over a year. Mann has stated that audiences are ready for a new story in the Heat universe. “It’s sustained in culture. It’s known,” Mann said. “I could delude myself into thinking that the whole world is familiar with it, but when you check out its prominence in home video for over 20 years, this thing really has legs. People are still watching it, people are still talking about it. It’s a brand. It’s kind of a Heat universe, in a way. And that certainly justifies a very large ambitious movie.“ It has also been rumored that his Ferrari star, Adam Driver, and Elvis star, Austin Butler, are attached as a young McCauley and Shiherlis, especially as Butler was training at a gun range last year.

For Michael Mann, the detail, focus, and obsession he puts into every frame of his work is, what he believes, should draw viewers in. That being said, when the work is a two hour and forty-five minute biographical drama about a tobacco industry whistleblower, he recognizes the details may in fact be what turns people off.
Speaking in a recent interview with Vulture, Mann shared that his 1999 two-hander between Al Pacino and Russell Crowe, “The Insider,” doesn’t get the appreciation it deserves compared to some of his more popular features like “Heat” and “Ali.” Though the film received seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director, it was a flop at the box office.

Is Mid-Century Modern the next Golden Girls? If you ask some critics, maybe!
As of Thursday afternoon, the new Hulu comedy, premiering Friday with all 10 episodes, has a generally favorable score of 73 on Metacritic based on five reviews and a fresh rating of 88 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
"The series is a mostly delightful comedy that blends the wit of their groundbreaking sitcom with the charm of The Golden Girls," Variety's Aramide Tinubu says.
Created by Will & Grace's David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, Mid-Century Modern stars Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer, and Nathan Lee Graham as three gay friends of a certain age who move in together in Palm Springs after a friend's death. It's a true sitcom throwback, shot as a multicam in front of a live audience with the legendary James Burrows directing. The series also features the final TV performance from Linda Lavin, who died in December midway through production.

Or has the property been watered down and Disneyfied now that it's set up at the Mouse House's primary streaming platform?

Chicago Med has lots of trauma, and we aren't just talking about the surgery unit. The characters who currently fill out the Gaffney roster have been through a lot and are still struggling to make sense of it all. It's part of what makes them all so endearing, and why we root for them to grow.
John Frost is a newer addition to the Med cast, but we are still getting a feel for who he is and what he's been through. There are still lots of blanks to be filled in, and Darren Barnet, the actor who plays him, revealed that a newcomer will help to do just that.
Barnet told TV Insider that Med season 10 will see the introduction of a character that Frost knows from his past. Frost was an actor prior to entering the medical field, and his show biz background will evidently come into play when this character resurfaces.

In 2024, It Ends With Us was supposed to mark popular romance writer Colleen Hoover's first adaptation. The movie, optioned in 2019 by Jane the Virgin actor-turned-director-and-producer Justin Baldoni, also starred Blake Lively in the female leading role in what would've been her biggest commercial hit so far. Little did anybody know.
The ongoing messy legal battle between Baldoni and Lively over claims of sexual harassment, defamation, and smear campaigns has become not just the public's most addictive drama, but the industry's focus, as well. The drama might have been used for laughs by awards hosts like Chelsea Handler and Judd Apatow, but a what-not-to-do cautionary tale for the entire film industry. With different takes online about the two actors' ongoing drama, a new feature on The Hollywood Reporter paints the situation as an extreme "cultural misunderstanding," with sources alleging why Lively actually felt uncomfortable.
