The story goes around Júlio Santana, a small, rural town boy, turned into a hitman, by a twist of fate.
The movie shows Santana as a real person, not a killing machine, with no heart or feelings...
Some say this movie is all about choices, and that's true... the choice of killing or not killing, the choice of having riches and a wealthy life, and taking lifes, or having a modest living, without blood on his path.
There's doubt, sin, and redemption, in different phases of this movie, and that makes the main character "likeable", eventhough we may question some "life choices".
The pacing of the movie is good, there isn't a single dull moment in this movie, and, eventhough I would like to see more killing, the ones showed, are good enough for a "bloodhound" like me. There's violence, there's blood, there's romance, there's drama... there's a bit of everything here... ...And that shows why brazilian cinema has such potential, in the "post- Elite Squad" age.
Try it, you won't be disapointed at all...

Júlio Santana is a family man, a charitable man, an example to his family and a source of pride for his parents. However, he hides another identity beneath this facade: in fact, he is a professional killer responsible for 492 deaths. Between a rock and a hard place, between the law and crime, Júlio needs to find a way to face his demons.
Based on a true story, inspired by the book of the same name by Klester Cavalcanti about the Brazilian Júlio Santana, a hitman who killed 492 people in his 35-year career (he started at 17), despite the very slow pace, we are restless waiting for the next death, the soft tone, the lightness of the suspense, the drama in moderation, full of good people (God, Country and Family), it is no coincidence that Havan appears at the height of the film... Pigossi and Fabíula are perfect, a great work of national cinema, a source of pride...
