While Nina Hartley's "advice porn" series is still going strong at Adam & Eve, the revived Penthouse label issues Doc Ava Cadell and her rather wimpy series of white-coat porn videos. Sharing hosting chores with another doc, the former sex symbol intones words of wisdom while we watch porn actors and actresses go through their mating rituals.
If that sounds dull, it surely is. None of the five vignettes are the least bit diverting, and only the breast in show finale starring Capri Cavanni got my juices flowing. Most of what the good docs have to say live, or in voice-over, is yawn-inducing. My only educational takeaway was when they revealed that getting humped in the armpit is colloquially called "bagpiping". Now all I need to know is what the similar practice executed in the crook of the knee is called. I don't want to appear ignorant at the next cocktail party where such important matters are discussed.
Phoniest aspect of this video is that its title and doctor-described contents are a fake. Softcore foreplay is mentioned and even described, but given the marketplace the video is just as oriented to XXX content in the form of blow jobs and intercourse as any other random video. Director Skye Blue, whose myriad work for all sorts of labels including the old Penthouse, Bizarre and Playgirl has impressed me, strikes out this time.
