I expected a supernatural thriller but found this to be a very serious and gripping treatment of a major social problem that films rarely attack head on. The protagonist turns out to be a very complex figure who is fighting a losing battle against his own demons. Some may take supernatural elements seriously; I took them as a metaphor. The ensemble cast was outstanding, full of classic southern figures, well-acted. And while the cast is diverse, race plays no part in the plot whatever. This is a serious film and no one will feel they wasted their time watching it, trust me. Highly recommended.

The film was a sheer delight! Packed with entertainment and humor, it managed to strike a chord on a profound level due to its compelling moral and message. The storyline was not just engaging but also thought-provoking, leaving a deep impact that stayed with me. The cast's chemistry was palpable, making the characters relatable and endearing. The witty dialogues between the actors resonated with real-life experiences, making the characters feel like old friends. The film's technical aspects, from cinematography to special effects, were astonishingly realistic, immersing me completely into its world. The music and sound effects added depth, enhancing the overall cinematic experience. It was more than just a movie; it was a transformative journey that left me entertained, enlightened, and profoundly moved.
I felt inclined to leave a review because I'm not typically into psychological thrillers but this one was great! There was a perfect amount of suspense and twists and turns that I did not expect. I found myself wondering what was real vs what the lead character was imagining! The make up was great and very realistic. I was really by the acting overall! I found some of the characters to be genuinely funny, and it helped to lighten the overall mood of the movie. Very well done - would certainly recommend to those who love psychological thrillers, and even those who don't! You will likely be surprised!
Went in completely blind and was pleased to discover a psychological piece that introduces increasingly more doubt about the intentions (and perception/sanity) of multiple characters while leaving just enough crumbs to reward an attentive viewer.
The visuals during the front end + daytime scenes are very realistic, setting the stage for convincing slips in and out of surreal/supernatural elements. Even greater support for these elements is established by Alfonso Freeman as Sheriff Lewis--whose entrance into the film (for me) got the intrigue rolling and provided gravitas across the runtime-- and Danny Vinson's performance as "Crazy Ned" Bowers. The latter is so compelling that viewers can't write off the questions that allow this film to walk a captivating line between genres.
All in all, without giving too much away, this film has a lot to say about credibility and recovery--particularly the limitations + agony of trying to pull ourselves out of the gutter in solitude-- with some surreal twists. Highly recommended for viewers that want a more intimate experience requiring careful attention. It ain't what ya think!

This is a great film! Well-made story, takes the viewers on an exciting journey through one man's struggle and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time! Sometimes, when we think we have life (or a movie) figured out, we realize we just might not. Excellent cast and crew brought this film to life and truly gave it a quality that stands above many other movies I've seen. There are many twists, and turns, and moments that make the hair on the back of your neck stand-up! It was a pleasure to watch this film. Definitely recommend watching this one! Kept me guessing & on my toes!! Add to your watchlist now!
