I watched the first half hour if this & was appalled at what a horrible actress the teenager daughter was. I kept thinking is it me? Or is she really this bad? I had to pause the movie and read some of these reviews. Whew! Not just me haha! She has to be someone's daughter or relative to have been cast in this. She ruined this awful slow boring movie even more.
I'm sorry but this genre has been done to death. Nothing new here. They must have used the acting budget on Lance Henriksen, as the acting ( particularly the daughter) is terrible.

Where to begin.... predictable story, just about the worst wooden acting, boring characters, and overall, just a complete waste of time.

The young girl in the movie is absolutely horrible at acting! I almost couldn't finish it because I just can't stand her. The movie itself wasn't as good as I expected. Disappointing!

I give this one only a 9 because I try to save 10s for films like Kubrick's The Shining. It is evident that the other reviewers talking about this film have no idea what Horror is. This is a slow-burn, so get ready for a buildup to a really great finale with a powerful message. One reviewer calls it "propaganda." But what film or other work of art isn't slanted one way or another? The Insidious films, for example, promote the ludicrous idea that clairvoyance (witchcraft--take it from a former practitioner) trumps any kind of Christian guidance--and the Bible is even made fun of in installment 4. The jump scares are minimal here and, truthfully, almost expected before they happen. And then what the viewer sees isn't scary at all, but heartwarming (in most instances). I can be agreed that this film doesn't have the freakiness of Rob Zombie slasher or the action of Winchester or maybe the utter terror associated with The Conjuring 2, but not one of those movies--and a plethora of others--is as smart, or as culturally and socially pertinent and poignant, as Wraith. Many accolades to the director Michael O. Sajbel (One Night with the King), the quartet of actors who make up the haunted family, and, of course, the incomparable Lance Henrikson (Millennium; TV series). The supporting cast is also very believable, and the daughter, played by Catherine Frances, is realistic for her age to the point that one might think she was picked out of a church youth group one Friday night and asked to be in a Horror film. I can't say enough about the story-line behind this heroic groundbreaking, and hopefully seminal, film. Time well spent. I'll see it again, next time with my wife--who will shed tears, I just know it. And not because she thinks it's awful.

Not a horror but a lifetime ghost film. This was a nice film and the mansion was gorgeous. The house is old and haunted. The teenaged girl is not as rude and obnoxious as other teens in most films today, which is kind of a breath of fresh air. I found the story a mystery and not actually a horror as such. There was a ghost, some strange bumps in the night and a hidden chamber that no one knew was there before. I don't want to spoil it all but I can't help but say its a good film, and ignore the negative reviews.

This movie was supposed to be so scary and all the film festivals loved it. Did they watch a different movie? Scary-NO; Good story-NO; should be listed in the thriller/horror genre-NO!! I don't even think of it as an action movie, because there's no action!! The actors had to muddle thru thier characters with no pizzazz, no chemistry, & the teenager's role was so boring....so sorry, dozed off!! I really recomend that instead of watching this "Wraith" movie, that you watch "The Wraith" movie!

Somehow this one slipped through the cracks. Pro-life propaganda disguised as your typical, everyday horror film. This movie was an abortion.
Blatant anti-abortion movie with terrible acting. I would have rather spent a couple of hours scrubbing toilets to watching that film.

Holy hell, this movie is like the 'God is not dead' of thriller movies.
I wanted to watch a good paranormal movie not some anti-choice propaganda.

As everyone else has said, Lucy, the daughter was terrible in this. The dad was stilted, and the mother was almost good in comparison. Everyone else was forgettable. The poor dog shows up for 30 secs where the mom apologizes for forgetting him, and then the film forgets they wrote a dog in for the rest of the film.
Thing is, I'm not sure the bad acting is completely on the actors. The way the dialogue itself was written was awkward. A better actor might have made the dialogue less horrible to listen to, but not made a new movie.
My mom and I wondered if certain scenes had been cut, because even though the film dragged in places, it also was disjointed in others, leaving us with questions as to what exactly the movie was trying to say or go.
Also, is the priest a vampire. I kinda get him asking to be let in thematically, but she already invited you, and instead of being a solemn moment, it was instead like they were welcoming a type of evil in when she said yes. Yes, vampire, come into my home and help us, you're totally not gonna kill us.

The acting was so bad that by the end my mom and I were mimicking the monotone conversations to each other and cracking up.

I may be a bit bias, since this move was shot in my neck of the woods, but I think Michael is a fantastic story teller no matter the budget. He is trying to show the horrors of 1 single decision each character has a choice to make. I also think the camera work, and color pallette of the movie is fantastic! Movie reviewers on this page have their own agenda and need to check their heart for darkness because the movie must've struck a cord to piss them off, which in itself makes this a good movie, does it not? Check it out, give it a shot.

The ingredients for a great, even unique movie were here for the most part. I don't want to spoil anything but the source of the haunting was not something I've ever seen before. That and the characters and message made this film worthwhile for me. It also has great cinematography. The writing was poor in places and some of the acting was bad. Particularly the actress who played Lucy. That being said, while most of her lines were unconvincing, she did put in effort and it was obvious. I would like to see her in other roles after some training.

You can tell that this movie had a lot of new actors in it because of the fat that the daughter, Lucy, literally pauses or acts as if shes reenacting a wattpad fan fiction. She has extremely long pauses and is very monotone or tries to change pitch in a strange way. The acting is just strange and poor. plus the props were so cheap like as if they came from spirit Halloween

Just to add my vote for worse acting ever. Teenage girl is utterly awful. I couldn't finish it, I was hoping the ghost would take Lucy off somewhere.
Wow! Just wow! If she doesn't win a raz I'll be floored.... production was good, nice cameras, direction was crap! Had potential...
