A political thriller which have all the fit elements with unexpected twists .Watch it and you will love it .
Kodi is a different movie for dhanush, where he is playing a dual role, one as a politician and other as normal person working in college, he is seen good on screen with some good dialogues and romance in the first half of the movie in politician character ,the story turns up with a good challenging thrill from second half while he opposes the opponent his love with complex problems, good twists in story line to thrill the movie, there are no good songs and comedy track is weak, Rerecording is OK, anupama's role is OK for one pair in which she entertain in comedy on few scenes in first half , but main highlight is Trisha's performance in second half , playing a negative role awesome role for her in the movie.
An average attempt. The movie is just an entertainer with some romance, family, comedy and tragedy.Eventhough, i didnt like this film!
So going into this film I had no expectations, since I've heard a bunch of mixed reviews for it. Also I thought it would be filled with cliches, but I liked how the comedy in this at the start was not corny but actually funny. Also with most dual role films, there are not a-lot of discernible differences between the different characters played by the same person in tamil movies, but here Dhanush did a really good job playing both a mild-mannered professor and Kodi, the politician. Also Trisha did a great job. That said, there are a few cliches, but it was still way better than I thought it would be. This a really good political thriller and felt very fast paced! The songs were really good too.
A decade ago, the same pair for a film would have been a laughing stock. The main factor was the chemistry between them, which is now improved a lot. Particularly Dhanush whose stardom rose into the sky high. I am talking about Dhanuhs-Trisha combo. They were good in this film, but the nature of their roles was another advantage to work out so well. Not very romantic as if you had thought that way, but it was about politics and achieving their goals at any cost.
So this is the story of the twin brothers, who were born and raised in the political influenced family. Since their father lost his life for a good cause during political struggle, one of the brothers got interested in his father's path from the young age. The story is to reveal his ambitions and the secret romance with an opposition party member. On the other side his innocent brother having his way of life which disturbs after something went wrong. With a twist, the narration shifts to thriller in its final act till the conclusion.
The actors' presence made this film watchable. The direction was average. The writing was not good. So much cliché, that straightly borrowed from the 90s Kollywood films. Though, overall the messages were good in a few parts. But sometimes overshadowed by commercial elements like unwanted punchlines, unrealistic fights and slow- motion clips in this modern era of the film world. Particularly, as usual, the songs were the big drawback. If you are an Indian and Tamilan, then you have a chance to enjoy it, due to familiarity with the concept of the film and the culture that depicted in the film. For an outsider, the 80 per cent of the film does not make any sense. But even for the native viewers, I would say choose it carefully, because it is not a must see.
