A very realistic approach on how London mingled racists, hipsters and immigrants together; and yet they live their lives as a balanced ecosystem!
One day later having watched the movie I had the "aha moment" thinking about why Richard (Lachlan Nieboer) didn't like Matthew (Alan Ford) though he didn't hate him to death.!
I came across this movie as being a big fan of Haluk Bilginer (Hasan)! Yet another brilliant performance from him!

I wasn't expecting much from this little East London film. I watched it on Sky last week.
Very very powerful story. The fate of the main character is sad and tragic, yet so realistic. The film is very intense but it's worth the trip. It stayed with me for a few days as I kept thinking about how my neighbourhood changed over the years and how people come and go unnoticed.
Performances and music are really great and original. Lachlan Nieboer (Richard, the main guy) is very touching, very scary. He's surrounded by good actors (special nod to Haluk Bilginer and Alan Ford. I am surprised we don't see them together more. They are so good).
Visuals are great too. The party scenes look beautiful and London feels vibrant.
A nice little film that will surprise you!

I saw Trendy at Raindance Film Festival in 2017, and again last night. Even better on second watch. Great film. Excellent performances by Haluk Bilginer and Lachlan Nieboer. The estate agent is awesome too. Very realistic and gripping depictions of East London's characters. After living there for twenty years, I felt the film completely captured the feeling of walking in those streets.
The directing is awesome. Very oppressive, just like what the main character experiences. Just why the film didn't get released more widely escapes me. It flew under the radar while it's much better than most films I watch in cinemas.
