Trial by Fire: A Film Based on CRPS/RSD

Thank you Charles Mattocks for providing this true to life portrayal of this horrendous disease.

The rare disease Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is the most painful disease known to medical science currently. It's often called the "Suicide Disease" because of the high rate of suicides due to sufferers being not being able to live wealth the pain of this incurable disease.

"Trial by Fire" is the first movie available to call attention to this horrendous disease.

Charles Mattocks documents his efforts to seek treatment for his mother who has this debilitating condition. This film provides an honest picture of what she and others who suffer with CRPS go through in their effort to find treatment.

With easy to understand medical explanations of this disease and an accurate depiction of what the disease is and how it affects those with it, this movie provides awareness of this little known disease, that many doctors are not even aware of.

This heartrending portrayal shows that the reality of looking to the most up-to-date treatment procedure is like and the hopes of not only someone afflicted, but also on their family as they attempt to put her condition into remission.

Charles Mattocks also shows the struggles of several others with this condition as well, including a young girl.

This documentary is truly eye opening for the sufferers of CRPS!

As a crps patient I was very moved by the stories in this film. And to see the perspective from the families, doctors, and caretakers was very touching. I know a lot of us lose family and friends after a period of time after diagnosis. I do hope Charles Maddox makes a second film and focuses on those of us that do not have access to specialists and treatments. A lot of us have to rely on our family physicians to take care of us. With the vast amount of ways crps affects us besides the extreme pain I know our doctors get overwhelmed. We struggle to get the appropriate medications or they've been drastically reduced so our mobility and abilities are drastically reduced as well. This film is absolutely beautiful and it does show how crps takes over our bodies and lives and how it affects everyone involved in our lives as well. As a single mom of 3 young children, a sick mom is all they know. I truly hope crps gets the recognition it desperately needs and us as patients get the respect we deserve. The CDC and emergency room staff should be required to watch this film so no more crps patients die waiting to get the help we so desperately need. Thank you Charles Maddox!!!
