Tesla a Genius

The story was odd and it never really tells us about the man and his visions Not a biographical film but an artist rendering of third person memories . Yes lots of people want to rule the world .

If Google made a Tesla movie

It's a random girl telling you how many searches "Tesla" or "Edison" has on Google. Then a silent Ethan Hawke staring at lightening for the rest of the movie

All over the place

This movie doesn't know what it wanted to be, and in the end it has hardly anything to do with the real Nikola Tesla. The movie tries to be artistic but is just mess.

No Spark Whatsoever...

This biopic was one of my most anticipated of 2020. Sadly, it is as dull as a Wikipedia entry... sprinkled with two scenes of anachronistic music and a secondary character reciting Google search statistics. Yes, you read that correctly. Ethan Hawke is as reliable as they come... but even his talents are insufficient in bringing this dead script to life. No Spark Whatsoever.

Another self-indulgent Ethan Hawke vanity piece

Title says it all. This was a movie that didn't need to be made, so they "re-imagined" history to make it more compelling. Only it wasn't more compelling, it simply was irritating.

Ethan Hawke is the fourth actor to have portrayed Nikola Tesla in a feature film after David Bowie in The Prestige (2006), Nicholas Hoult in The Current War (2017), and Petar Bozovic in The Secret of Nikola Tesla (1980).

The narrator claims "George Westinghouse was sixteen when he enlisted in the Civil War, served in the Navy on the northern side, and was promoted to Corporal." This is incorrect. In 1861 at the age of fifteen, Westinghouse enlisted in the New York National Guard (a land unit) but was later called home by his parents. In 1863 he re-enlisted in the 16th New York Cavalry (another land unit) where he attained the rank of Corporal. In 1864 he joined the Navy, serving on the USS Muscoota as Acting Third Assistant Engineer. While "Ship's Corporal" was a position (not a rank) in the Union Navy, Westinghouse never served in that position.
