After the clip from
Carlo di Scozia (1948) showing the Jacobite conference in Derby, Clare says, "Charles and the clan chiefs didn't know that the French King Louis [XV] was planning his own fifteen thousand-strong invasion of England." The French tricolour, the modern national flag of France, is then shown flying from a flagpole. This being 43 years before the French Revolution, the blue-white-and-red tricolour hadn't even been thought of.
