K-drama has a million and one transformation tales. A million of them involving plastic surgery, becoming a beauty over night and eating whatever you want, turning heads by wearing skimpy outfits after the transformation.
This one is the odd one out. The focus here is not on being beautiful and getting the guy back/revenge but on being healthy, the transformation is slow (made over 10 episodes of the show) because it depends on healthy eating habits, the right kind of exercises and proper sleeping hours. In fact the character keeps at those habits way after she's reached her goal which was refreshing.
Ji-seob So who plays Mr. coach is amazing. The chemistry between him and our leading lady leaps off the screen. The leading lady is cute regardless of weight and very relatable.
In summery, WATCH IT! IT'S GOOD!!!

I love this series and highly recommend it to viewers who wish to watch a funny, and realistic look at a budding love that grows into deep abiding love between two very different souls. It was funny, and sad at times; but it was also realistic in that the issues that each of the main leads had to grapple with did not magically fade away, but were conquered through hard work and determination. The love that developed between the two leads was steadfast and unmovable; it was also portrayed in a mature manner without being raunchy.
I love this series and recommend it to anyone who wants a different angle on love between two broken people.

I recommend this kdrama so bad. All the characters are very refreshing that it makes the plot very unique. The chemistry is just so good I feel like pulling my hair every time they have the romantic scene. Mr. Coach is hot and sexy and so are the two kids. This kind of remind me of goblin since the girl lives with 3 hots guys so it's a win win must watch guys

I shouldn't have let the name put me off, and watched this much sooner! There is always so much more to Korean dramas than their name and synopsis.
This rom-com was so well written and acted, it had hilarious moments all the way through with no ridiculous side characters. The bonus was Henry playing the comedic one without being too silly! There was drama, excitement, sadness and the most romantic moments ever too. The chemistry between the leads was great and a good balance between passion and decency. Loved all the supporting characters and was also super inspired to get fit and eat better too... bonus! Highly recommend.

An ok K-drama with somewhat different focus than the classic, although it still lurks in the background. The large focus on the visually pleasing and the sometimes obvious fat-shaming is a pity. The writers have tried to disguise this beauty-contest-love-story in the shroud of the ambition of health and fitness. But the existing standard and paradigm shines through and it is sometimes unnerving and uncomfortable. How this woman can not be seen as a true beauty, or even a woman really, until she achieves her "weight-goal" and becomes what she was like ten years ago. More acceptance, self love and humility towards aging and also change of body and soul would be desirable. But still not a bad drama, if not scrutinized too closely.

I personally like the plot. Justified the title . A nice romantic movie. Love and perseverance is well described. The concept of pain is described in a smooth and nice way. I have watched quite a lot K drama . This is a must watch on my list .

Girl is dumped by first love after 15 years together, she has become overweight and yearns for her youth where she was adored by all for her looks. Luckily she inadvertently meets an accomplished personal trainer, but will he help and will romance blossom ? It is a gentle well acted romantic drama but seems to fall a bit flat as nothing really happens, and it seems to suggest happiness is only for the thin. Worth a watch though as it stars Shin Min-a who is as adorable as ever

This drama was amaZingggggg !! It's definitely a must watch !! I truly enjoyed it !!
The cassst omg so so so amazing !!
I must praise the plot of the drama. Excercise, healthy diet mixed with romance. The drama motivates me to keep fit, by doing gym. And this makes OMV excel among other kdrama.
I remember there are few kdrama talking about turning beautiful by plastic surgery. OMV passes more positive and healthy message.
But I must say that So is simply too thin and sometimes looks tired. Of course this does not affect his superb acting skill. So, in my mind, is so much a gentleman and respect females. Female lead is too witty and lively.
I still remember the kind grandma of male lead, who treats female lead so nicely. Usually in kdrama the rich family does not accept poor daughter in law.
Ladies, don't miss this drama.

Chemistry : very good
Story: good but too many scenes that felt like fillers
Plot: Was there one? I think there was one from ep. 1 to 5 mabye. Afterwards it felt boring

I wasn't sure at first if this was a fat-shaming show, but it seems to be done mostly the right way about weight loss with diet and exercise, which makes a very nice change. It's the same formula of rich guy accidentally seeks unworthy clumsy woman with a jealous foe, but it it too is done nicely in the story.
The biggest thing I can't unsee though is that her glasses are frames only. Whyyyyy? It's so annoying! Why are glasses also seem to be only for "ugly" girls in these shows?

Finally a male character in KDramas who is actually a real man! I always have the feeling that the standard male characters are too feminine or they don't behave properly, for example they are too shy or too intimidated. Mr. Coach here has the guts of a strong man who can take indeed care of his woman by taking responsibility and dominate her in all the good ways of course. Very nce!

Oh My Venus holds a special place in my heart since it was one of the first dramas i ever watched.
This series flawlessly combines heartwarming romance, relatable characters, and just the right touch of humor.
The chemistry between So Ji-sub and Shin Min-a is off-the-charts, and their journey from self-discovery to love is incredibly captivating.
The story not only dives into their relationship but also tackles personal growth and body positivity in such a refreshing way.
The gorgeous cinematography and the vibrant backdrop of Seoul add to the overall charm of the drama.
With its catchy soundtrack and engaging plot twists, Oh My Venus is a delightful binge-worthy treat that any Kdrama enthusiast will fall head over heels for!

This series is at it's strongest in the first half when the heroine and hero deal with their individual challenges. As those drop away the central love story needs to engage the audience, but unfortunately that never quite hit the heights so often achieved by Korean drama. The mix of comedy and romance didn't quite work with the former dissipating the emotional impact of the latter. The best Korean romantic comedies manage this blend with ease, but while everyone tries very hard, the effort is too clearly visible.
Despite these reservations this still manages to be entertaining enough to allow us to finish the series without regretting doing so.

If you like a good love drama this one is a nice choice. The acting from shin min a and so ji sub is awesome and the storyline is nice too. Comedic relief is there as well. There is also a decent amount of good vs bad. Highly recommend this one.
I think the best episode was between 3-8 maybe. The journey of her weight lost was fun to watch. The chemistry between the group was good too. I like how the three men are closely knitted group. The guy that speak English also grown on me. I found him a lil bit too much in the beginning but he became the best character in the end.
Then when the two main characters finally got together, it got boring and more drama. There are also unnecessary subplot, like the korean snake's romance with his super hardcore fan that actually did sexual harassment, if you think about it.
Overall it is a fun series but should have been shortened probably or have some more nicer storyline towards the end.

Funny and cute. It is a light watch and I give it an 8/10 for the lovely chemistry between the two leads. I am not too sure about the message the story is driving here, but as a romcom, it keeps you entertained and you can definitely re-watch this series!
It's not my favorite Korean Drama only it's my favorite drama always. When I want to have a nice and lovely time I watch it and every time this series gives me good vibes and positive energy . When I watch it I say to my self I think it's time to have my own love story hhh.
