This is not your everyday japanese high school romance movie. It will get you hooked from the start. It slowly develops the character dynamics and the connection between them. You will easily get attached to the characters. It will make you happy and sad at the same time. The best part of this movie is its unique story that I dont think you might have seen or heard before in a romance flick. Although, this is a romance movie, it would not appear like one when you watch it. It focuses more on the friendship. One of the character develops feelings, but the movie never showed them getting together. Overall it is really fun to watch and totally enjoyable.
Hase Kun expression really show how genuine he is towards Fujimiya san. sometimes our friends are the one who create opportunity in our life
The school festival are the mandatory scene i guess in japanese high school romance movie

For me this film is one of the best teen romance drama films that I have ever watched. The two main characters fit perfectly and give a deep impression of how beautiful high school days were.
Giving a perfect score of 10/10 might be a bit of an exaggeration. But for the teen film class, I think it's quite decent, especially with the theme song that I keep playing in my spare time, I think I really need to give more credit to this film.

Japanese dramas/movies are usually adopted from manga (comic novel) thus have some unique taste. This movie is refreshingly unique. Yet, it's not cliche nor has that comic vibe like the other Japanese movies.
But It's a story mostly about friendship. So might get disappointed if you are looking for teen romance. I love everything about this movie. It's a 10 on 10 for me.
One Week Friend is such a heartfelt, bittersweet film that left me with a mixture of warmth and sadness. The story, about a girl who loses her memories every week and the boy who patiently befriends her over and over again, is both touching and thought-provoking.
What I really loved about the film was its gentle approach to relationships and the value of genuine connections. The characters were portrayed with so much tenderness, especially Yuki, whose persistence in wanting to get to know Kaori despite her memory loss is both sweet and admirable. It's a beautiful portrayal of unconditional friendship, and eventually, love, that goes beyond the limitations of time and memory.
While the film has its emotional moments, it never feels overly dramatic or forced. The pace is calm, allowing the relationship between the two leads to develop naturally, which makes their bond feel all the more meaningful. The theme of memory and how it shapes who we are really struck me-it makes you think about how much of ourselves is tied to the people we remember and the experiences we've had.
That said, there are moments where the story feels a bit repetitive, but given the premise, it's understandable. The emotional payoff, however, makes it all worth it. It's a film that quietly tugs at your heartstrings and leaves you reflecting on the fragility and beauty of human connections. If you enjoy a mix of romance, drama, and a touch of melancholy, Love Action: One Week Friend is definitely worth watching.
