Beachfront Bargain Hunt: Renovation

I love this show. It is my favorite hunt/renovation show on besides Rehab Addict. I hope to have a beach house someday and this show makes it really seem possible. I love it and look forward to new episodes!!!

I just watched one of the newer episodes set on Galveston Island and it left me with a giant question mark hanging over my head. The couple is introduced as having 4 kids between them ages 15 - 21. They ended up picking out a small two bedroom house to which they added a bathroom inside and did lots of outdoor improvements. They continuously talked about family being together and yet never explained where the kids were to sleep. Also there was a large building taking up about a third of the backyard and it was never mentioned. Not once: as if it were invisible. What the heck? Is this where the teens were to sleep? Was it a secret? I can't figure out why it was edited in such a way to leave viewers scratching their heads.

I used to enjoy watching this show even knowing that pretty much everything was staged but the flavor of the show has really changed and gone strsight downhill since it went to the Magnolia channel. Now, the lighting and sound, not to mention the people, are awful. The show quality has greatly devolved into something with much less charm and watchability than the average cringeworthy TikTok clip made by a teen or tween wannabe influencer with a ring light. The sound in the last one I watched (S9:E9) had so much echo it was hard to understand a lot of the dialogue and the lighting was non-existent.

It's seeming like all the good HGTV shows that went to the Magnolia channel were sent there to die quietly without much notice or any fanfare. Most days HGTV seems to just be running marathons of many older xhows. They can't even be bothered to update their series pages here!
