Japanese singer-songwriter Mulasaki Ima has released a music video for her latest song "Gakkyu Nisshi" ( Class Journal ), which is now featured as the ending theme for Blue Exorcist -Shimane Illuminati Saga- . Mulasaki Ima, now 21, started her singing activities in 2019. She is a multi-creator who writes lyrics, composes, and arranges all her own music, and even produces her own video editing and illustrations. "Gakkyu Nisshi" is her major debut song from Sony Records and her first anime theme song work. The song was released digitally first on January 14, and its CD single will be available on March 6. The music video was directed by film director Yuuki Yamato, known for her internationally acclaimed works, such as Drowning Love (2016) and Hot Gimmick: Girl Meets Boy (2019). Based on the acclaimed 2015 manga series “Archimedes no Taisen,” The Great War Of Archimedes debuts on Digital, Blu-ray and DVD June 15 (just in time for Father’s Day) with an all-new English dub from Well Go USA Entertainment.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki (The Eternal Zero), the film is a fictionalized depiction of the behind-the-scenes struggles of building the Yamato, the largest battleship in the world, during WWII. Synopsis:

Nana Komatsu, Ryu Jun-yeol to receive honours.

Japan’s Nana Komatsu and Ryu Jun-yeol from South Korea will receive this year Screen International Rising Star Asia Award at the 18th New York Asian Film Festival (Nyaff), which runs from June 28-July 14.

Komatsu will receive her honour before the festival’s opening night screening of Bernard Rose’s action epic Samurai Marathon on June 28, and Ryu will receive his award on July 6.

Japanese multihyphenate Kiko Sugino (“Snow Woman”) will produce an omnibus film directed by seven women from Asian countries, the project’s executive producer Kousuke Ono (“Kinki”) revealed at the Platform Busan forum on Sunday. Ono was participating in a discussion on Asian omnibus films moderated by Busan International Film Festival Asian cinema programmer Kim Young-woo. Another omnibus film, “21st Century Girl,” produced by U-ki Yamato (“Drowning Love”), is a collection of 14 eight-minute shorts by women directors, including one by Yamato herself. The film will have its world premiere at the Tokyo Film Festival in November.

At the discussions, producers and directors of omnibus films spoke about the challenges of making and distributing what is effectively a niche sub-genre in Asia.
