This show had a good start, I don't normally watch Chinese drama/crime shows so got interested. This show borrows heavily from the show Elementary and Sherlock. I was intrigued at the first 10 episode as it had that Elementary feel. However that feeling was short lived as the plot seem to trip on itself, story becomes bland, characters doesn't really develop and action sequences cliched.
My other complaint is how cheesy the dialogue becomes--especially the English. It was actually dreadful. If you need a good psychological thriller, this is not a good one to go to.
As well the antagonist tries (but fails) to be like the Hannibal Lecter, except without the creepiness and more just a clownish appearance.
I don't get all the high ratings, seems like they never really seen a good psychological thriller show.

This drama was very weird.
In the beginning it is mind-blowing. The romance is cute and hilarious, the crime stories are logic, and dialogues are witty. You are waiting that the scriptwriter (the one of the brilliant Nirvana in Fire) is going to explain all the mysteries and combine every plot-line (crimes, love, mental twists of the hero) in a very clever and dramatic way.
But THEN from ep. 15 or 16 everything changes.
The show now looks like a cheap action movie, full of clichés and predictable. The characters lose their individualities, the crazy hero becomes a usual person, the girl disintegrates into a stupid damsel in distress. The pace is totally off. Now it is just a clumsy story about the gang of maniacs haunting the hero. Some mysteries of the first half are merely forgotten.
Of course, Wallace is gorgeous actor, I like his big black eyes, he steals the show but the best actor couldn't rescue this stuff.
Many TV dramas have problems with the plot in the final part but here this problem is particular.
Looks like somebody (TV producers? Chinese censorship?) intervened the shooting and quickly converted the show into a low-grade action movie. Maybe they ran out of money? Some traces of the original plot (more dramatic or even tragic and less soapy one), some Chekhov's guns remained in the first half but they don't shoot.
9 for the beginning, 3 for the ending, 6 as the average.

I've only seen two episodes so far, but while this show is definitely good, it has a definitely Sherlock Holmes the newest one with Benedict cumber batch vibe to it. Even like 40 min into the second episode there was the Holmes song in the background. Not that I'm complaining, just wanted to not it in case anyone has seen that show, and needs a show to fill the gap. This is it. The main male character is, not going to lie, a bit of an arse, very judgmental, and a bit masochistic. The main female character, for the few episodes I've seen so far is a bit meek, but smart, the meekness/ lack of apparent desire to defend herself against Mr. Bo's rudeness is the biggest turn off there. But those are both qualities that I'm hoping will be improved upon as the character development grows. You should watch this show though, give it a try. I'm currently trying to learn Chinese, and this is a nice way to do it.
This C-Drama is worth the watch. I totally did not expect to like the drama as it wasn't my cup of tea according to the synopsis but boy was I wrong. It surpassed my expectation and it was definitely my cup of tea. If you love watching dramas with twists, this is it. Wallace Huo, who plays the main protagonist, is an excellent actor. He definitely brought his character justice. His emotions, actions, and just everything was on point. His chemistry with his leading lady is sizzling too. He definitely did a great job portraying his character as Bo Jian Yan/Simon/Allen. Aside from his acting, Wallace is smokin' hot in this drama. His clothing and hair is on point. If you love men in suits, this is it as well. lol Going back to the drama, it is beautifully shot and edited. Maybe just a few mistakes here and there but it's not entirely noticeable. The flow of the storyline is good, music is good, casting is good, and the budget of the movie is good as well. If you do plan to watch this drama, don't stop watching it. It gets better each time. You'll definitely find yourself staying up all night to finish watching it.
A MUST WATCH DRAMA!!!
This is not a typical Chinese drama which are usually unnecessarily dragging the plot...its 100 times better. This is a very intelligent, well written and properly engaged drama. It will make you sit at the edge of your seat. You cannot skip any scene even once. One more thing I liked about this drama is that there were no cliches which is the main ingredient of Chinese drama.
Plot: It is adapted from Ding Mo's novel of the same name.
Its a story of a criminal psychologist who cracks the cases of the most mysterious and horrible criminals with the help of his assistant. I can't say much about the story because of the spoiler.
Chemistry: The chemistry between leads are heart-fluttering. They are very very very good looking couple. You will get Sherlock and Watson feeling.
Wallace Huo: He is an epitome of beauty. His walk is elegant, his dialogue delivery is spot on.... He is smoking hot. I couldn't take my eyes off him. If you like men in suit then watch this drama for him.
Coming to his acting Wallace lives and breathes his role as Bo Jin Yan. He's has done a full justice to his character, his emotions, actions, expressions everything was on point. What a versatile actor!
Sandra Ma: She is an amazing actor.
She wasn't at all annoying. She's not made to be a bad-ass but her softness doesn't make her less strong.
Andrew Yin: The bromance between Jin Yan and Zi Yu(their characters name) was everything. It was beautiful to see their friendship/relationship. He made me smile whenever he was on screen.
Cinematography/Direction: The cinematography is gorgeous. The use of fish eye lenses were just amazing. I applaud the tension building and the plot transitions. Everything was placed carefully.
However if you're a long time kdrama fan and want to try Cdramas and if your genre is crime thriller then I would definitely recommend "Love me, if you dare". Watch it for Wallace Huo, he is a one man army. But prepare yourself before watching this drama because sometimes it will make u question about ur insanity.

Lo sapevi?
- QuizIn the ep. 1 when Jian Yao, played by Ma Sichun, was waiting for her interview, she looked at the bookshelves and picked out books. The books were actually, from left to right, "Battle of Changsha," "All Quiet in Peking" (2 volumes), "Ode to Joy" (3 volumes), and "When a Snail Fall in Love." These books have all been adapted into dramas. Director Zhang previously worked with Wallace Hou in the drama Zhan Changsha (2014), and Wang Kai has starred in all the dramas based on the last three books (Beiping wu zhan shi (2014), Ru guo wo niu you ai qing (2016) , Huan le song (2016))
