When I was a kid back in 1992 I've played this game and I was very frustrated with the game. I did not enjoy the game and let me tell you why.
The good gameplay parts
The animation and scenery background is very faithful to the original 1950s, 1960s Roadrunner cartoons where you outsmart Wile E Coyote. If you reach the checked flag goal, you get rewarded with a cutscene where Wile fails and gets defeated as usual and you get to see a fat viking opera woman singing and making fun of Wile Coyote.
The music is beautiful and they use the 1930s Looney Tunes opening theme song. 5 levels of the game uses music which I enjoyed very much.
The bad gameplay parts
First of all I don't really like the Roadrunner, I think the Roadrunner is a big bully to Wile E Coyote making him suffer, getting blown up or run over by a truck I don't find very funny at all. They should've make Wile E Coyote the star of this game instead of the mean Roadrunner and have him kill and eat the Roadrunner.
The gameplay is more clunky than Bubsy 3D and it's hell to play. I don't like that they made the roadrunner struggle to run up slopes and on walls, I can't control that annoying bird and he won't stop or respond at times, the flag poles that you get in the game are a big chore and a pain in the butt and the flag poles are a waste of time because all you get is a perfect score message and that's it. The birdseed power is very limited and drains very fast every time you want to zoom up the hill or wall.
The enemies such as the scorpion, rattlesnake, circus monkey, cave bat, robot eye, Roadrunner robot time bomb, Marvin the Martin, the Martin birds on Hoverscooters can easily hurt the roadrunner.
The most frustrating levels are the level 1-2, 1-3 where you can fall to your death, it also happens on the level 2-2 construction site, and this happens on the level 3-2 and 3-3 train levels and even happens on Mars level 5-1, 5-2, 5-3
Oh yes and the Wile E Coyote boss fights on level 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 are brutal because you have to have the Roadrunner peck on the machine parts while dodging the dangerous rocks, wrecking ball, spikes, bombs, missiles and it's easy to get killed.
Worst of all, you have only 3 lives, 7 HPs, there are no continues in this game, which makes it more frustrating to beat.
I'm very disappointed with this Super Nintendo video game, it could've been a fun game to play but nope, it had to be super hard. I recommend you watch youtube videos of the gameplay instead of playing this Roadrunner game.
